I'm new to the DSM world, A friend just helped me buy a 1995 Eagle Talon FWD. it has 199k miles and no popouts or grinds on the tranny. I paid $1800 for it, and I think i got a great deal. Car has been running awesome for the two weeks I've had her. I've owned 3 1991 DA9 Integras, was my favorite car until I got this one.

Just wondering what I should keep an eye out for? How I should keep her running good, and any other suggestions you guys might have for me?

Just the fact that you asked this questions means you will have many years of fun with this car.

Maintenance before mods as said above. To give myself peace of mind I replaced all fluids, hoses, belts, and filters on my DSM asap after its purchase.

Also, a clean car runs better. But of course, we all know that!

The guy I bought it from said he changed both tranny and engine oil with Royal Blue, do you recommend the type he used? Or should I try something different? He also said timing belt was changed 20k miles ago. I should probably still get that checked to confirm it right? since these motors are interference ones.

I think Royal Blue is alright to use but a quick search of the forums will give you a better idea.

Do you have a receipt for said timing belt job? You can't really just check to see if the timing needs done again. The belts can go from looking just fine one day to snapping the next.

If no receipt but you think he was being honest, you can always call him one more time. Sine he already has your cash, there's no reason for him to lie. Ask him if it was done and he'll probably give you an honest answer.
