It toke about 300-350$ total my buddy just started painting so I just gave him 100$ to teach me some pointers and help with the later coats to look smooth which worked out well, and to use his garage and equipment. As far as painting supplies about 100-200$ depending on which type of gun you want can give you a little more details on supply overall i give dipping the thumbs up but I would not have went out to teach myself this process due to fact my first coats were lets say rough hahah

Thanks! For that amount of money, I could change my car color every year!

Enjoy it man, only last a few months, i did the same with camo tan same car, paints bubbleling and chipping.;)

if its bubbling you either didn't prep the car right or it was too humid out when you dipped it. Ive had my rims dipped for almost 2 yrs now and i haven't had any peeling, chipping, etc.. and thats going thru New England winters and all the stupid amount of snow we had last year as well as all the salt. And I did it with spray cans, so if you do it with the actual system they have now with the hlvp gun it should last way longer than a few months.. again thats applying it correctly! :mrt:

Gotta say, i've had the wheels on my frontier dipped black and hit with the glossifier. It's been at least 8/9 months now, and I live in the northeast with plenty of salt and harsh conditions from winter. I've pressure and touchless washed the truck many times, plastidip still looks 100%! If you do it right, it holds up really well. Little secret... After i wash the truck, i take some turtle wax tire shine and spray the whole wheel and tire, then continue by "buffing" the wheels. When im done, looks like theyre powder coated.

Amen to that. Using a little armor all or turtle wax like you said is the key to making the wheels really look good. I would never dip my car but wouldnt hesitate to dip my rims again. For one, its nearly impossible to screw up. I didnt use glossifier on mine, i may look into that if i redo them next spring.

^^ Agreed. To me it seems to be a good amount of work to make it come out the way it is intended to, and in the end it still looks like you tried to paint a car blindfolded and drunk.

X2 if it's bubbling you didn't prep right.

I've had my front bumper plastidipped for months now and it looks the exact same as the day after I painted it.

Looks great man !

Technically all 50..You cannot mod your exhaust, headlights,or tailights,Or at least thats what the law says..Tint is 35% in all 50.What other random Bs can i think of right now.

Bud your actually wrong , I used to live in Oklahoma where they do not require vehicle inspection, my tint is at 2% all around and my windshield tint goes inches below the AS1 line. I also run an open downpipe for now, got pulled over a couple times in Ok and they couldn't do anything about it.

Soon as I move back to Texas state trooper pulls me over for smoked tails , exhaust , tint , and tried to get me for my switchbacks but I fought that one. Switchbacks are 100% legal , as the law states hazards or signal must be indicated by a flashing amber light on the front of the vehicle , and red or amber is acceptable on the rear.
