I haven't seen this problem, so hopefully I am not wrong for asking. It won't let me post anywhere else, so I am assuming I am to post here until I am not "fresh meat"?

I got the car and there was no CEL. Now I have car all fixed, and still no CEL. However, It doesn't even show up when in accessory, it never shows. I do have a code thrown, but that's only due to my exhaust leak. So I know it should be showing, and I know all cars show it before starting car.

Is the 2g Eclipse bulbs, or leds? I haven't pulled apart yet, since I don't have any parts to work with yet. What other explanation is there as to why it won't show, other than blown? All other lights work, it's only the CEL.

Pull the cluster and check the bulb, takes about ten minutes to get it out.

Alright. Didn't know if it was bulbs or leds. I hate starting something without finishing, so I didn't want to pull it because i wouldn't put back on til fixed.
Thanks

Theres really nothing that wouldnt be fixed.. There are like two screws that hold the bezel in, that pops out and then 2 or 3 more screw that hold the cluster in and it slides out. You're saying if you found a bulb burned out you would just let the car sit until you finished it? You talking days? Hours? months? Sounds foolish.

Pull it out, find out what bulb you need, slide it back in and secure it with a screw or two and go to the store.. Its not like you're pull the trans for a clutch job and going to let it sit until you order your parts and wait until they get there.. Hell, you could probably drive to the store and remove it there, get your bulb, replace it and put it all back together.

Two phillips head screws to pull the bezel, two that hold the cluster in from there it's just plastic clips. Should take less than 20 minutes.

For what it's worth, I get really nervous when my CEL ISN'T on. :p

I checked the electrical FSM and the check engine light circuit is part of the Combination meters fed into the instrument panel. This circuit shows linked to Fuse #8 inside the car. Check the fusebox by footwell , it says Meters or Gauges. Possible issue through circuit.. Here is function related to each fuse #.... Also Fuse #3 is also related to it as well when igntition is on
