A good buddy of mine has started powdercoating in his garage. I think it turned out ok

I've lurked for a while as you can see by my registration date. I used to have a 95 talon tsi (red) I sold it before going back to university, this car is a million times nicer then my last one though :D

got the original black box ecu with the car, so the eprom will come out and I have a 20g to replace the t28 which should make for a fun autocross toy.

Only if your using the money to upgrade does sellling the ecu and ecmlink make sense..But your going to upgrade so you why not keep link?

Contrary to popular belief, ECMLink isn't the best. The 98/99 ECU's that use the H8 processor are faster, more powerful, and have more features than ECMLink does. ECMLink is a great product, not taking anything away, but you'd be amazed at what else is out there. Red pill and blue pill, which one will you take? ;)

Try getting the technical support with any other tuning platform for these cars as you would get with ecmlink .

Don't get insecure. ECMLink has legions of users and an entire forum dedicated to support. It's a great product, still not the best though. I stand by my statement.

nice car, but posts in the introduction section don't count towards the "tech posts" you need to get out of probationary status.

No one is insecure here. He'll I don't even own dsm link, or even a dsm for that matter, I could care less either way what this guy does to tune his car, just trying to give him the best possible information.

?? I'm not sure I understand. I have to make 30 posts and I can't post anywhere but the newbie forum currently.

And thanks for the advice guys, I've seen a couple options for tuning and have decided on my black box ecu, ceddymods evoscan etc. I just need the reflash cable still. Don't need a war on which is best right now, I'll let everyone know how it goes in the spring. :D

more pics for everyone! heres the truck I used to have when I made this account and the reason my profile name is ram rt (it could use an updating)

It was one hell of a sleeper, without spray the 4.10 rear axle and 450hp got that little 2wd to 60mph in 5seconds. I had plans to start spraying 100 and work to 200 with inertia motorsports remote tuning via email. The sad part is I never finished hooking up the nitrous side of the kit before I had to sell it to go back to university and all the parts in that pic are now for sale. I get to roll around in my 01 isuzu vehicross and once spring hits the gsx will come out on the odd weekend.

Im thinking about getting crower 272's, springs and retainers for my car. any opinions/experiences? PS. NOT Brian Crower :p

"Tech Posts: 8"

I think this thread is working for my tech posts....

Very nice 2g. I'm a newbie here but lurked (unregistered) for a while. That 20g will be nice for auto cross! My buddy does auto cross in an sti and always tries to get me to enter. Never do. Plus I plan on built motor/bigger turbo so my AGP BB turbo will have to go.

I have been trying to get off probation for a while any way to check it?

Guess so haha. Can't wait to get it but just got the wally 255, fuel lab fpr kit, and oil feed/return for the 20g.
I'll keep working on useful posts but lets keep this thread alive :D

Those sti's are quick at our local auto cross. I did a handful of events in my jetta 1.8t during university but I think the gsx should be a whole new ball game. I wish we had some larger tracks around here to try but as time goes on I'll work into it. I am hoping the 20g will spool fast enough, too much turbo lag will really hurt my times. Competing with CanadianTalonTC will be a riot he has a sick build going on.
