I read a few threads about gaskets from "Mizumo Auto" which were mostly positive reviews, but that was a few years ago. So, has anyone used gaskets from this company recently? And if I'm not mistaken, the MLS Head Gasket they offer looks VERY similar to the FelPro PermaTorque.

I will be using a Gates Kevlar timing belt, ARP head studs and deleting the balance shafts. The head and block are just getting cleaned, decked, and milled so I can use the MLS.

Opinions? I am on a tight budget, in college, and need my whip.

I used them to put my motor back together. For the most part they fit well. Some of them were a little tight or offset. I had issues with the rear main seal. Wasn't cut too precise but was fine after I torqued it down. The valve cover gasket also had one hole that wouldn't line up, but other than that it was fine throughout. The rest of the gaskets were spot on. Just remember to use some sort of copper spray or RTV on the nonrubber gaskets, especially where it sees oil pressures, and you'll be fine. Also I stayed away from their head gasket. Just too much at risk to use. Use Felpro or any other reputable company.

Dont use ebay gaskets to rebuild your engine. I mean top line is bad enough, but at least for the most part there quality. and only use cometic head gaskets no exceptions...

Many of the gaskets in this kit are better than TopLine. In the past, I did have an eBay (Evergreen) head gasket blow between cylinders 2&3 in under 100 miles on a customer's car where they provided their own parts against my will.

I've also had the valve cover gaskets from these kits get as hard as a brick and start leaking before the first oil change. FelPro or no-go for me on valve cover gaskets.

Aside from that, everything else in the kits seems to be good.

I wouldn't get the Ebay kit. If you are trying to save money, Just buy a cheap gasket set from Rockauto ($65), but go with a quality head gasket like a Fel-Pro composite ($25). $90 bucks total for everything ($10 more than you were going to spend), and you won't have to worry about the head gasket failing. Can't go wrong with the Fel-Pro composite. They are proven, and have a great track record. Just search Fel-Pro composite on here, you'll see guys pushing them to ridiculous boost levels.

While having discussion with BogusSVO a while back about MLS headgaskets, he pointed out that having a composite gasket is good insurance. If you do something dumb, have a shit tune or similar, a composite head gasket usually will take a shit before the head, valves, or even the pistons do. With a MLS gasket, that motor will usually hold together until something hard and metal breaks or melts.

Maybe Dale can chime in and explain his .02 better than me, but he was basically saying 9 out of 10 people are just fine using a good composite gasket, and don't need a MLS. It all depends on application of course, but the Fel-pro composite has been known to hold 30psi, which is far more boost than most people's motors ever see.

Thanks for the input everyone. I probably will go ahead and do what GST with PSI recommended. My motor will probably never see over 300hp once said and done. Using a composite will then save me some cash regarding machine work. The motor is good, I'm just making sure everything is in spec and having the shop clean it all since I have it out of the car. Thanks for the help!

I would use it. Just don't use the important things like head gasket and valvecover gasket.
