Anyone use a portable garage to work on their vehicles? I'm trying to figure out a way to finish my Z in the winter without freezing to death. Main concern is it's possible to keep any sort of heat in canvas type garage

I live in the Texas Panhandle, it get's cold here LOL...It's usually in the 20s in January and February sometimes even colder and plenty of snow...I'm 10 hours away from Houston and 6 hours from Dallas...They're the ones with the mild winters LOL

This pic is probably at least 10 years old. I just picked up my first dsm with a blown engine and was swapping another in there. After that you could run a heater inside, but if its a sunny day it wouldn't be too bad inside. This garage was from a company called, "cover-it" They hold up fairly well.

We're currently putting up a 10x17 portable garage. It's surprisingly big, more than enough to store and work on a DSM.

Yeah, weather here is pretty crappy LOL, super bipolar weather..Thanks for the info Wes, that's what I was kind of worried about was if there would be enough room, I'm using it to work on my TT Z, which is about the same size as a dsm

Bo0sTdTsI I just bought the 10x17 one from Harbor Freight off I-40 and they have two left, and I have a coupon for 25% off, came out to $160 total for it after tax..

Mine was bigger then that. If fit a full size van in it, so your size should be fine, I think my other was that size. Can't remember the dimensions. I still have it.

Here's a tip, at the peak of the roof you may want to put some foam tape. If the tarp splits, its going to be at any one of those peak area's. I have 2 of these, one cover had to be replaced after a few years. What I did is pick up a tarp that was long enough to cover the roof area. I put that on first, then the new canopy. This also helped with the weight of snow, not that you may get that in your area. To anyone who gets one, invest in a roof rake. You're going to want to pull the snow off. My neighbor didn't and well he lost the whole thing. (tip, put a piece of door edging along the metal edge of the rake so it can't tear the tarp)

PS. I used my other cover-it to build a truck. I picked up 2 8 foot florescent lights. I mounted them to the pipes with a U-bolt on each end. Then wired together and to a power box with switch and plug. I was able to run a long extension cord out to it and plug it in. Flip the switch and its like you're in your garage.
