I came across a great deal a month or two back and bought a punishment racing hot parts kit and came with a 3" precision vband o2 housing.... I have a 6 blade hx40 and getting ready to buy a BEP t3 .70 A/R, 3"vband exhaust housing for it and was wondering if the precision 3" v band o2 housing will work with a BEP housing?

Bump! Just bought a HX40 from justin and would like to verify this as well for my current setup id like to run before I purchase the o2 housing from punishment racing.

Because on punishment racings site, when your ordering the hotparts kit it asks you what o2 housing. And lists a 3" vband o2 housing and a precision 3" vband o2 housing.... so that led me to assume the vband is different for the precision turbos compared to a standard 3" vband

The BEP housing vband is bigger than 3" you have to buy the matching BEP vband and clamp for it to fit a normal 3" vband is smaller than the outer diameter on the housing.

Well the vibrant vband has a little lip that fits i side the BeP turbine. I might have a pic.

Thats the o2 housing i made and am currently running.

Your down pipe was probably 2.5" at the start of it. And the very outside of the vband flange may have been 3" but thats not how you measure these flanges, you measure through the ID of the pipe

Anyway, i dont see why PTE vband wouldnt work too, dunno what the price diff is.

Well the ID of the vband o2 housing inlet (off the turbo) is 2.641" and the O.D. is 3.08"...

kyle - could you measure your hx40 BEP vband exit and let me know if what I have will work or not. Its $250 for a 3" standard vband o2 housing through P.R. as is the one I have so if I need to I will sell it and use the money towards one that will work for me and bolt up to a 3" dsm D.P.

I can't measure it cause I'm not taking off my o2 housing soon. It's 3" though, if your I'd is 2.6" then thats what your vband is which is not correct for the .70AR.

When they say 3" vband they are talking about the ID not the OD.

Alright that's what I needed to know. I will sell what I have and get the proper vband. Do you have any recommendations on where to get one besides the link to the one above? Id rather pay a little extra to bolt it up rather than fabbing up a vband o2 housing
