Our cities local meet up for street racers ("The Gut") is being heavily monitored by police. This is forcing everyone to meet at our stores parking lot. It is corporate policy to ignore the issue and allow them to do whatever they please.

Since they have picked our lot as their new location there have been fights, accidents, anf loads of auto theft. Last week a girl got pissed at another and tried to run her over.

Tonight a boy racer in his Honda Civic was racing in our parking lot (Yes, I know...) and ran over a young woman and she died.

It sucks to hear about the girl dying and because idiots like the boy racer with the Honda, I don't go out to much anymore. They're all the same

That's messed up. Personally I don't think it's purely racers per say that "chill" at parking lots creating drama and issues, but just dumb to the bone people (hence the fights, theft, drugs....). Common sense seems to not exist in later generation other than on rare instances.

I found out a bit more of the story.

So last week a 17 year old girl with her stock 92 hatch was talking shit about this guy's Camry and how he had wasted money on a 10,000 dollar system for his car and how the TVs in his headrest were stupid. He got pissed and tried to run her over.

This week they decided to race in our parking lot... yeah... and when she beat his Camry he got pissed and she started talking shit. After this I'm not exactly sure what had happened. But somehow he ran her over.

When I left work this morning there was a couple cops there at the scene with all of the equipment and the van that is typically used for homicides (My dad was a cop so I know the equipment pretty well).

I'm sure they are at least charging the guy with manslaughter, but since they were waiting around several hours later for CSI and the detectives to do their job I wouldn't be shocked if they are going for homicide. It kind of makes sense considering he tried to kill her last week.

Wow that sucks. Do you work at some kind of big retailer or something with a large lot? Just recently one of the biggest car meets in my area was shutdown for good because of stupid people. doing burnouts and blaring thier systems, people lighting shit on fire...its a sad day...I feel like its only going to get worse too because those same morons will slowly start migrating to Cars and Coffee and ruining it as well.

What a disgrace, I can't believe people that age are like that, I'm not that old but at 17 I was pretty mature actually too mature for that age according to everyone. Sucks to hear you have a bunch of drama outside your job.

I also found out the whole story and saw the security tape finally.

What had happened was the guy in the Camry started driving around like a asshole and stopped and got out to talk shit. The girl in the Civic got on the hood of his car to stop him as well as her friend. The guy got pissed off sped through the lot, slammed on the brakes throwing them off and then ran them over. He LITERALLY ran them over in a slammed Camry.

The owner of the Civic died in our lot and the second girl later died in the hospital because she had the back of her head blown out from the impact.

It's being handled as a homicide and yet nothing is on the news.

Dang that's just crazy. People these days are assholes.

Kids these days. They play a little GTA, and the next thing you know, psychopaths.

I hope this sorry piece of shit gets ####ed in the ass for the rest of his pitiful life. I can only imagine what the victim's boyfriends/husbands are feeling. I would intentionally imprison myself so I could #### this guy up.

Shit like that will probably end up happening in my town.... Lots of people take it to the highway and back roads to get a little racing on...

Problem is in my city that over the years they shut down everything that was any bit of fun....
People don't want to drive 1.5-2hours to be able to make 3-4 passes and then drive home another 1.5-2 hours... Then if they break, that's a hell of a tow fee....

If any major cities had a local drag strip, I'm sure 90% of these idiots wouldn't be racing on the streets...

Yeah agreed, I sometimes street race but it's spontaneous, I don't go for a meet spot for that kind of stuff. I have been searching for a public road to do my 1/4 mile pass on because it's way too far. It takes over 3 hours for us to get to the track.

It's way funner to give a little bit of notion at a light and watch the other person take off like an idiot.

Had a guy this morning try to race me in my cutlass. I just laughed and shook my head. He was in a Hyundai Elantra hahahah loser. That's the biggest joke right there.

Of course he won in his 18 second race car on walmart hub caps

Yes, this story sounds like very little to do with street racing, and everything to do with someone committing voluntary manslaughter.

And how is this not on the news? This is insane, how can someone just kill two people like that? Jeez man. RIP to the lives lost

Sad to hear about a life lost, but car surfing is dangerous (duh!). They knew what they were doing (in other words it was no 'accident'), although most likely not realizing how dangerous it is.
