Ok, so here is the modifications I changed today! I replaced my 1G MAF with a 2G MAF! Installed a set of RC 550cc injectors! Made TRIPLE sure that all my wires were correct! So here is the problems that we are having now! Before the swap, I was pulling around 18psi of vacuum, now I'm closer to 20-21psi! The car is sputtering @ idle and under acceleration! If I hit full boost...the car falls on it's face! I noticed that the back of my car was covered in black dust when I got home and I have a strong smell of fuel! I don't have a wideband, but I'm guessing that those signs signal "RICH"!!! Here is the real thumper, I don't have any "CELs" coming on? I did switch out the Maf's with another and it seemed to run better, but still wanted to spit and sputter a little bit! Now after a couple hours of driving, the car wants to act really awkward? The only way I can describe how it is acting is like when you try to run a 1G with an open BOV! It takes like 60% throttle before the car will actually kick in and go! I can't afford to have this acting this way for long...any help here would be great!

I'm not sure how that is suppose to help? According to all the forums I've searched on here, swapping out a 2g maf w/ a set of 550s is suppose to be damn near perfect? My car is barely even drivable because it is running so rich?

Is your ECU a manual ECU or an Auto ECU? Are you sure all the wires are connected correctly? This should work fine. Also, you SHOULD be pulling 20-24hg/in of vacuum, so what you are seeing is good. Sounds like there may be a post MAF air leak.

I'm running 16lbs of boost, I have not done a boost leak test, the computer in the car is the factory manual computer it was built with back in '89-'90, I am thinking it is the maf itself...but could it be "dead" and not throw a CEL?

Well, I've installed a set of 560cc Evo 8 Injectors, an AEM UEGO Wideband, and a different 2g maf! I also took out my stock fpr and put one in from a 92 dsm (auto)! Things have gotten better, but I'm still running lean @ idle and during cruising! The wideband flashes to 10 when I go WOT, so I'm guessing that is good? I also noticed tonight that I have one injector seal leaking (#4), what kind of symptoms can this bring on?

does the fuel pump need to be upgraded in order to use the 550's? and dont you have to change the timing on the 550's ### they are bigger?

What is your wideband reading out at idle for "lean".

10:1 is rich so yes thats a good thing but you wanna be around 11:1 at full boost, assuming you were at 16psi at WOT as you stated earlier. As long as it stays no less than 11.5:1 DURING BOOST AT WOT that is ok.

The leaky injector seal could cause a rough condition.... a leaky anything can cause problems so that might be a good place to start.

Also suggest getting at least an AFC or something for tuning, or all this is just educated guessing.

Fuel pump rewire at the very least, as long as the OEM pump is in good working order

While I haven't read up on the 2G MAF in a 1G topic for some time, I seem to recall that long ago folks who had a pretty good idea what they were doing came up with an estimate that the 2G MAF flows something in the ballpark of 16% more air than the ECU thinks based on the value reported by the 2G MAF to the 1G ECU. So, if correct, a perfect situation would be if your larger injectors flowed around 16% more fuel; however, the larger injectors you've installed are around 24.4% larger based on advertised flow rate. So, without any other internal engine modifications I would generally think this modification would leave you running a bit rich. Which is seemingly exactly what you're seeing in WOT since your A/F meter is reporting a rich condition in WOT. Sounds like the problem you are having running lean is occurring in closed loop operation where the O2 sensor feedback affects fuel ratio. Any chance you've got a fouled O2 sensor? CEL light for O2 only comes on for an absolutely failed sensor, but for one that's simply gone a bit goofy but not dead it'a an entirely different story... learned this lesson by experience...

Sorry that it has taken me so long to reply to this! I've been working like crazy and trying to figure this out!!! Bud92gsx, that is the exact page I used to wire it up! The maf I am using has the following part numbers: 055/E5T05071/1517A! I also now have link installed, and still can't tune out of this lean condition! Here is a quick question though, is this maf considered a 2g maf or 3g maf? Also, when I selected "2g" maf...my O2 sensor doesn't cycle, just falls to zero? However, when I switch to "evo8/3g" maf selection, my O2 sensor cycles perfectly???
