So I've done some research and have not specifically found my answer. Me and a buddy are building for 500-550hp currently and have purchased Felpro's Perma-torque HG. My question is will we require standard ARP's or L19's?
Both will be running boost in excess of 30psi. If this helps turbo's of choice will be PTE6262 and a Holset Hx40.

My set up is regular composite HG on L19 holding 30psi on the 35r 612 hp
Not pushing coolant

Oh and it's the felpro HG I forgot to mention

I would figure you be ok with new arp studs and good surface a tune with not detonation is a plus
I got L19 for peace of mind. For the 30 psi plus

Sweet thanks guys, that's what I was thinking. People have stated standards will be fine for 500hp but I don't want to take the risk of lifting the head or pushing coolant. Another concern of mine was the L19's was running them with the composite Perma-torque. I'd rather stay away from a MLS HG if possible.

Standard ARP's and a felpo compoite gasket. Upper 30's everyday making 600+whp, and no problems. Have seen 50psi on it once, no probems.

I think stock bolts would hold too.

Hey Bastard, was hoping you'd chime in. When running the Standards with the Felpro composite, what should I torque these down to?

for the Regular ARP studs I belibe its 86 ft lbs I seen them starting to push coolant as lowest 28 psi as high as 33 psi from personal experience

on the L19 OR H11 from A1 technology I Torque these to 105 ft lbs and has worked flawless

I would recommend you to go L19 and call it a day But the regular will work It all depends on the compression and boost level

If your on the stock bottom end on 30 psi 7.8-1 comp I dont see why the regular arp would not hold

But if your 9 to 1 on big turbo and high 30's psi i would recommend the L19

Ok that makes sense. My motor is 8.5:1 comp and Taylors is a 9:1 comp. I don't mind spending the extra coin if it ensures the best seal possible. Taylor on the other hand isn't so sure he's going to. I'm trying to convince him otherwise though.

Not that I'm saying standard ARP's aren't suffice but I would hate to have it put together only to blow the HG once I get it on a dyno and tune it.

^^ Its going to hold up great as long as the tune is good. If there is a lot of predetonation not even the L19's and a metal HG will save you from pushing coolant, popping the headgasket or just blowing the pistons right out of it. With good deck surfaces and a good tune, most would be just fine with a Felpro or OE composite gasket and either OE or "standard" ARP studs. Course, Im referring to six bolt motors that have larger head bolts than the seven bolts do.

My awd spyder made well over 500 on standard arps and a felpro composite hg. You won't have a problem. :thumb:
