whatsup everyone,

I have a 98 spyder gs manual and it needed a new trans, so i picked up a fwd gst trans from a local guy(not sure what year it is). Everything is in but the axles are not sitting properly, when i pop the axles into the trans I can wiggle the axle up down left and right.

and when i turn both axles they make a bouncing/clicking noise. do i need gst axles or are all fwd axles the same whether it be manual or auto, i tried searching but no definite answer. thanks in advance

Solution
I got it guys thanks, I looked up the axles on an auto parts store and theyre different part numbers. spline count on the gst axle is 27, and the gs is 25. the axle is rusted on the hub on the drivers side and both bolts are rusted on the lca where the strut mount is bolted. oh well considering this car sat outside for a year most of the bolts came out pretty easy.

cant wait to get this car on the road before it gets too cold to put the top down
GEt the fwd axles for the year of your car, and make sure you get the ones for your car to eliminate any problems, and whether its turbo or non just tell them what you have and you should be fine.

You need gst axles. The spyder gs have a smaller shaft on the transmission side.
as quoted you have to get the GST axels im doing the same swap as you in a few months. with a Bigger Load *Stock turbo motor* Comes Larger possibilitys *Larger stock axels, Etc,etc, etc***
I wish you Luck with this Swap if you Encounter any problems let me know ahead of time XD
