That was a great read! Thanks for putting that together! It is really neat to see how far people have pushed these cars and the results!

very very cool.
I love reading how back when it began, the best quarter times were 13 sec and they were almost tagging 100 mph. Fast forward to today and the times are cut in half and the speed is doubled. Just incredible. It makes me a little bit more proud looking at that hunk of cast iron sitting in my garage.

Love this! I still remember back around 99, 2000 talking to Shep when he was running 10's at LACR in Palmdale Ca. He was such an easy going guy and was very humble, man those were the days..... lots of memories at that old track.

Wow all I can say is badass, I am hella proud to be the owner of my car, I can see all the pride everyone has in these cars when all the time and dedication is put into them. Very awesome read I shared it with some buddies that own hondas and I'm not going to lie they really enjoyed it and showed even more people of various car prefereces and they all told me thanks for the interesting and persuading read. Can't wait to read the rest.

Thanks for writing the DSM story on track through the years, it s sad that some great people in the DSM history , forget their origins, I understand that you have to evolve and make more money, but don´t forget where you come from....this made me remember the passion I feel for the DSM

Nice write up!

Three things:

1. In 2001 at Maple Grove when Sean Glazar ran 8.87, you don't include that he backed up that pass with an 8.90.

2. Just my personal opinion, I think "DSM" gets tossed around too easily. As much as many wanna say the RWD converted cars "where the first DSM in the .. ". I gotta disagree.

3. A Toyota Corolla on an all-time DSM list? C'mon...

Amen Brother BR RWD Car is the reason why I never got credit for having 1st auto DSM in the 10s and fastest auto DSM around until Russ Coxe built is car

Ive kind of sidetracked the story due to a recent fb page I opened. Have been dedicating most of my free time to the fb page, but I promise I'm going to make some time to make my best to finish the story up to the Mitsubishi present.. The facebook page Ive been working on is https://www.facebook.com/dragracingtimes, dedicated to 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 and 1 mile ETs.

Linked here from GalantVR4.org. Probably my first post on Tuners in months.

I wanted to publicly thank you for taking the time to do this. Back in the day, DSMers were known for turning a few bits and pieces into world class performances. I don't deign count myself among those OGs, as I didn't pick up the torch until 1996, but it's one of the fundamental aspects of DSM history which makes me still consider myself a DSMer, despite not owning one in years.

You've taken bits and pieces, scattered across the web, and turned them into a world class performance. Kudos to you, mate. You do us all proud. I'm subscribing to this one so I don't miss updates and would like to talk to you about this project of yours more in depth. PM coming.

This is what going fast with class looks like, folks.

great article!!!
