I need to replace my 14b wheel mine is chiped and making a moaning noise under boost. the turbine shaft in new , center section is new and bearing kit.....i used old wheel when i rebuilt it... i would like to keep 14b due to not having to rebuild useing 16g kit and have to buy 16g housing.....I did not have a choice casue i could not find another wheel. any ideas?

From what I can see Mitsubishi doesn't sell just the wheel...it would prob be pricey anyway. I would give Forced Performance a call to discuss options, otherwise just pick up another good 14b in the classifieds.

Wow Sebba! That's pretty harsh! Chill buddy! You do know he is a newbie right?

Sebba: Yet you have time to insult newbies and spill your intolerance in the forum.

DeathtoHonda: If you mean compressor (intake) wheel I have a good stock 14b junkyard pull in perfect condition that has been acting as a cool paper weight on my workbench. Shoot me a personal message and I'll hook you up.

I think forced performance has mhi 14b wheels for $180.

Hey for 180 he could get an ebay 16g, yank off the compressor cover, and wheel and use those instead, but of course genuine Mitsubishi components are best... from a durability standpoint.

so if you want to save money get a good used MHI turbo compressor wheel, and call it a day.

Ebay is a good place, Craigslist is ok, Amazon is ok too, Check here on Tuners classifieds.

Lets take a look.

Ebay is not a good place, arguably the worst. Craigslist certainly isn't much better, and who the #### sells DSM parts on Amazon?

Dude, after reading your posts 'round 'hurr, you haven't got a clue.

In my opinion the best first stop is the junkyard. From my local yard i've pulled a street racing block with JE pistons and Eagle rods, I found a rare manual steering rack, turbo parts, upgrade parts, and items of every sort you can't even find new. Rock bottom prices and you have time to check it out before you have to buy.

Ebay and Craigslist rock as well, but they are shark infested waters and you just have to be very careful to know what you are doing, inspect thoroughly before you buy and understand what kinds of bad things could be hiding between the lines- is it a knock-off, is it worse than they say, etc.

I love Amazon as well- those guys resell EVERYTHING!

Bottom line is you need to take advantage of every resource to find parts for these aging but popular cars, including forums full of great guys (well, maybe not Sebba) that can help you out as well. Seriously- just send me a private message- I have the part here for you, shoot me a token offer to make it worth my while to box up and I'll ship it to you.

I have a drawer full of them that i dont need or want. You can have one if you pay the 5.50$ shipping cost.

You may have to rebuild the turbo again also, I have seen many times where people install a used compressor wheel when rebuilding the turbo. Their thought were usually "I dont want the new compressor wheel to get ruined if i install in incase i messed up the rebuild."

They usually do the rebuild correctly, then when they put the damaged and out of balance wheel on then their turbo. Then they install the turbo and run it and the turbo officially needs a rebuild again.

But arnt mhi turbos component balanced? I've rebuilt several and havnt had a issue yet with balance, this is with new compressor wheels and turbine shaft. And I'm suprised no one mentioned asking justin (the turbo Man) LOL!! It sounds like the o.p. just didn't know exactly what he was doing and screwed it up!

I do appologize I was in a hurry when I typed this thread out. I thank you for your input , I did find an answer to my problem. Thanks for your wisdom and time.

You don't want to buy a new 14B compressor wheel...ever. At this point with the newest 14B being at least 19 years old, just find a good turbo that doesn't have wheel damage on eBay or in our classifieds and go that route. By the time you buy the replacement wheel and another rebuild kit you've surpassed the value of the turbo itself.
