So I just bought these shifter base bushings and wanted to know if I installed them right?

I placed the ring on the bottom of the base because it didn't make any sense for it to be on top...

you are welcome, you should consider to continue replacing all your rubber bushings throughout the car with polyurethane ones before DSM's become obsolete and you wont be able to find anything for them.

I tried tightening the bolts to 50 foot pounds with my torque wrench I know is in spec and it snapped the bolt

He got it from the write up that is linked above. Which, by the way, says 50-60 Inch Pounds, not Ft. Lbs.
