If you don't mind, how much would they charge me to powdercoat mine?

Also I assume you already have the new O-rings to put the calipers back together?

I've read thru this thread and im assuming i
missed the reason to tap one of the ears.??

Yes you've missed it. The bracket bolts to one of the ears using a short threaded bolt on one of the ears because there is no clearance for a nut and bolt. This is also the reason why mild porting on the backside of the calipers is required.

Hope that helps you. There is more to it than this but those are the major issues.

Lol, thanks. I forgot there is no threads on the stock ear. I have the bracket and all but haven't installed them yet, or even removed my current brakes.

Powder coated... and now just waiting on my rims to come in the mail!

Very pretty, but I hope you're not planning to track them.

That link I put up "holyoke" has the fittings. M10x1.0 bubble flare to inverted flare. I believe the 3/16's number is the line size. This adapter should be a 100% solution...as much of 100% as not stock can go at least.

Item # 301-10, Inverted Flare Seat to Male Metric Thread Bubble Flare Adapter on Holyoke Fittings It says 3/16th's. But that should work. Also for the guys running -3 stainless....... AN Steel Adapters | ANplumbing.com

Any updates on this?

To me this looks like a great solution which I cut and pasted from another thread
^^You can use the one youve got, but youve got to get the booster for it as well because of the rod that sticks out. You can get the booster off a 2001 Galant for sure as the Galant has the very same master cylinder you are describing, and the outside dimensions of its booster is the same as the #42.

To all who are bolting the inverted flare lines to the master cylinder designed for a DPS (drill point seat), this is just plain scary. One of the things I do for a living is building brake lines of all types. When the master cylinder is dry and the lines are drained, why not just take the lines off the porportioning valve and bring em to a shop that fabricates brake tubing and have them cut off the inverted flare and put a DPS flare on the lines for you? Itll cost less than ten bucks and youll have the piece of mind knowing you dont have to worry about cracking your tubes by over- tightening the crap out of them to get the mismatched seats to seal. Not trying to start shite, just a little FYI.:thumb:

I just finished installing my brembo's & 3G brake Master. I bled it 2 times around & have clean bubble free fluid coming out. Brakes are firm with the car off, but running it's not that firm. Any suggestions?

Maybe i need another round of bleeding. I was told the pedal would be firmer with the stock booster.

Yes, i installed the bleeders on top.

Literally about 30-40% of my brake pedal travel up top feels dead (when the car is on).

when bleeding these brakes i did the inner first. Is that correct?

I'll jack the car up and give it another round, that's the only thing i figure it could be.

So far so good I should know if i'll be getting these adapters by later on today. When I get or should they have them in stock I will post! Again GSXitement thanks for the link. These guys are 15 minutes from where I live!

FWIW, I did a track weekend with a GSX master cylinder and the Brembo upgrade with some fresh Endless pads and the brake system felt fine. It was the first track weekend I've ever done where the brakes were something I didn't have to worry about, versus my old 2G calipers + R4Es.

Sure it was a little more travel than stock, but I've driven cars with systems that inspire much less confidence. Felt good enough to run the north oval at NHMS into turn 3.

If you have a FWD, I'd definitely swap masters due to the much larger difference, but I wouldn't say that it's a total mandatory thing on AWD cars. I might swap cylinders this winter if I get bored and feel rich.

Could anyone confirm wether the Evo 8/9 brake master cylinder and/or brake booster will fit like the 3g? Do the 3g items defer from the Evo?

I have a chance to get them locally from a wrecked evo clip

Tried the adapters and they dont work on the stock dsm fittings on the brake lines. They do screw into the 3g master cylinder though. Im just gonna get some modded braided lines wit the stock dsm flare on one end and the 3g flare put on the other to fit the 3g mc

Still waiting to see if anyone got the rear on a 1g and will not roll down a hill when parked. Is the stock caliper WITH the brembo still the only proven way so far? Was curious how the trailing arms of a 3kgt came out but he never finished.

Am i understanding this correctly that there aren't any differences between the evo 8-10 calipers. Bout to pull the trigger on the calipers but need to be double sure.

You're not, there are indeed size differences. Are there differences in mounting said calipers? Yes. That information is on the very first page of the thread.

If you are going to do a custom brake swap, I'd familiarize myself with all the pertinent details before either wrenching or purchasing.
