Hello all,
I have a question for those familiar with the analog style wideband gauge from AEM. Last night I drove the car (1990 GSX) in wet conditions, but had no problems. The gauge usually glows white and I just started it again since last night and the back lighting is now glowing red. I don't have any paperwork that came with the sensor and gauge cambo that I bought from extremepsi so i have no literature to look at. the car still runs the way it did with normal AFR's. it has about 500 miles on the new sensor and gauge. Anybody know what this means off the top of their heads?

It sounds like it automatically changed backlight colors somehow. If there was a fault in the gauge it would blink one of the red LED's on the side of the gauge.

Anybody know the fault codes? It only blinks when I first start it. And it's done this since day one. I'll look around the web and see if I find any codes for this thing. Tomorrow if its dry out ill get underneath to see how the sensor harness looks. Anybody know if this sudden change in color means anything? Well it has to mean something.

Correction: it dosnt blink. One solid light comes on when I first start it. Then gos away.

It could be the sensor warming up. I have the analog wideband in my other car and I usually turn the key on and let the sensor warm up until the light goes off before starting the car.

Yes I think the solid light is a warm up or first start signal of some kind but, my concern is the backlighting just changed from whit to red over night. And I must apologize I when out and rechecked it just now and IT DOSE INDEED flash along with the solid warm up light on the othe side of the faceplate. It blinks 3 times, 6 times in a row.

And I must apologize, i just went outside and rechecked it to be sure it had no blinking lights. IT DOSE INDEED flash along with the solid warm up light on the otherside of the faceplate. It blinks 3 times, 6 times in a row.

So I couldn't find anything on why it would have changed colors on its own, so I just changed it back. The little dial didn't seem loose so idk what happened. The 3 blinks 6 times only happens when it wants to . Totally inconsistent and the harness is completely fine. AFR's are good. The only thing I can think is when I took it out today to check everything the body of the gauge was cracked on both sides were the two studs are. Could the outer housing cause the whole gauge out of whack like that. ???
