Yes, I plan to mount it on that strut tower somewhere. That's why the outlet is on the left not the right like usual. My fuse box is mounted below the intake/filter where the overflow tank mounts, which is now in the SMIC spot.

Wes...I can honestly say that I would never have envisioned one of these cans with that paint scheme. :)

It isn't my cup of tea, but the paint job is excellent. ;)

LOL Thanks!

Here it is installed and hooked up! I still need some 10an hose for the outlet, but even open to the atmosphere I've yet to collect any oil in the valve cover and my dipstick tube is dry for once in it's life. :thumb:

I like it!! One question though, why is your boost controller way up by your intake manifold!!!!?

i would be more worried about his over flow bottle being higher up then it should be

Are those MagnaFuel AN fittings you are using?

After a few thousand miles I finally had something to drain from my CC. Very very little oil mostly just what looks and smells like raw E-85. I also took my intake off to get to my shifter bushings so I could install some aluminum ones. Just as I expected my intake and turbo are oil and residue free. I dont log my crank case pressure but i still am no longer pushing any oil and my dipstick has not popped out since intalling the CC. Still one of the best upgrades I have done to my car. Thanks again for a great product.

Just thought I'd include a picture of how I mounted my catch can. I was having a hard time finding a good place for it on my 1g since I still have ABS, so I came up with an idea to mount it to the strut tower bar. Luckily, I have a friend that has a mill in his garage, so I was able to do this really cheap. Still took a long time to make these since he hasn't done his CNC conversion yet. A HUGE thanks to him for taking the time to make these for me. I pretty much just watched since I didn't want to screw up his nice mill.

On to the pictures:

I still have some work to do. I'll probably polish the catch can but for now I'm going to enjoy my running car before the weather turns cold.

As for the valve cover ports, how do you guys get those put into the valve cover. drill and then weld the ports into place?

Sorry for asking, because a catch can still is a bit foreign to me. I understand the logic behind it, but I don't understand how to set one up. I don't understand how to get the right size AN fittings and make it all work.

Yes, drill holes and weld to valve cover. Ideally the larger the better and most people go with 10an. Large enough work really well and not too large to where it will hit the hood of the car.
It's a great common size no matter what car. Honda guys love using the 10an size too.

Got my Calan can in yesterday and polished it today. It turned out great and needed very little work to polish to a mirror shine. I am very impressed and recommend anyone that is looking to get a catch can to pick up one from Calan!

I went with -10 inlets and a -12 outlet.

FYI, I know in the cold my can gets gummed up from the e85 crap. On the older ones where you cant take it aprat. If you take the brush off a parts cleaner and stick it over the catch can intake's and flush it for a while it makes quick work on cleaning out the filters. Best way I have found yet. I have had my can for a few years and it works perfect still after a good cleaning.

Thanks for the tip!! I did read that they did kind of get a lot more junk in them in cold weather with E85 however the car doesnt see much "really" cold weather driving. I put it away when the snow starts falling and dont bring it back out until it rains a couple times to wash the salt off.

Got my can a couple weeks ago and had it powder coated. Along with my valve cover and waste gates.

Anyone know if Calan is still making catch cans? I have been trying to get ahold of him for a week to order another can but haven't heard anything.
