whats up everyone. i just finished with all the 0 mods on my car. fixed all belts and timing belt. checked compression test and did all the meintenance that im supposed to do BEFORE i do any mods. so im bearley starting to mod this week following the upgrade path provided by this website and one of the first things ima need is a boost gauge. i ordered the gauge pillar from lotek and it arrived today. looks so sexy:thumb: now im gunna order three gauges BUT i ran into a small litttle problem

you see i like the gauges from glow shit. they are the "white 7 color gauges"

Because i dont wanna be driving down the road and trying to read a lil needle and seeing the actual boost pressure. i would like to have one with both needle and digital that way its easier for me to read. unfortunately glowshift doesnt make them like that. the only ones that make them with the white background is maxtow aaaannnd they only have them in the green color :notgood:

so i kept browsing and found this one

the bad thing is that it doesnt have a white background:cry:
my question is does anyone know of another brand that carries a gauge with both needle and digital numbers with a white background?
if so please point me in the right direction thank you

and as long as it has blue numbers im ok with that:thumb:

Race car pros like big 'ol 1800HP magnus racing eclipse use regular 'old fashion autometer gauges. Trust me, the quality is best for the money spent. Get regular autometer from off the shelf at any shucks or napa. There is no waitin on the mail or any of that crap. Want white? Pick the "phantom" series and stick with that. Trust me, the pro quality bad boys that make the magazines don't use ebay glow shift. They use regular autometer. And if it ain't autometer its the oh-so-expensive HKS, Greddy, Defi or Apexi gauges. No nice car high horsepower big dawgs use ebay glowshift.

yeah as an experienced glowshift guage owner, they are not nearly as accurate as auto meter. plus they are over priced. dont be temped to get them because of their pretty flashing lights! plus the simplicity and elagence of autometer guages add much more style imo

I like my AEM Truboost (or AEM Boost Gauge) it matches my AEM UEGO WideBand as well. Has a switchable black or white gauge face. Get ready to spend some cash though.

After having Pro Sports in my car and being disappointed (crappy feel, inaccurate readings); I switched everything over to AEM and have been much happier.

I decided to try propsorts and I am very happy with them. Never liked my AEM's much but Evo series gauges do the job and look good too.

what im experimenting on is the Bluetooth obd2 hook ups it seams a little bit lagging but probably with a little bit of tweaking you could use a tablet for all your gauges by using the same set up dono just a thought

AEM Truboost, my buddy has one in his s2k and I will be getting on for my talon... as soon as I do the rebuild and slap on the holset.

Not only accurate and looks good, but is also a boost controller.

Innovate or autometer gauges are the way to go. Autometer has many gauges of different colors im sure you can find one that will tickle your fancy. I believe autometer "nexus" series gauges have the 7 color display or as someone previously said buy autometers "phantom" series gauge and switch the bulb for a blue one.

Get the gauge you like. If LED color is not right, replace backlight LEDs. If gauge face is wrong color, take it out, scan it (on a home scanner), clean it up on the computer, change colors (or design itself, if you want), and take the image to your local sign shop to get printed on thin plastic. Put the gauge back together and you will have exactly what you want.

I went with Stewart Warner gauges from Summit. I liked the look and they are very accurate with Jakel. I had an auto meter gauge and it worked just fine. They are definitely the most bang for your buck!

I don't understand how someone would have trouble reading a needle type gauge. You don't have to stare at your speedometer for 10 seconds to know how fast you're going do you? If you can't catch a gauge reading in a glance you probably have no business being on the road.

Thanks! It was far more expensive than I had intended and a complete pain in the ass to setup initially, but the first time it came alive I decided I would do it again if necessary!

Changed the entire feel of the car. When I get in, put the key in, turn on the main power, and the gauge control computer boots, bump main pump to prime the rail and hit start (other steps skipped for security purposes..) a very satisfied feeling is had as it snaps alive.

If you are wanting to go digital an are willing to pay the money try Zeitronix ZR-2 gauge. They have several functions that you can switch between including boost. Or if you want multiple gauges you can set each one for what you want it to view. Also since you said you are starting your upgrade sequence it won't be long at all until you need to a wideband O2 sensor and Zeitronix has a great one that comes with software for logging (I personally use it and am impressed). So why not kill a few birds with one stone. :sneaky:

Oh and LAND-SPEED I too am impressed with your setup. That's what I call a cockpit!

I had the DEPO and they look cool for sure, but the water temp started acting funny after only 50-100 miles. The connector for the peak hold/warning buttons was very small and cheap (easy to bend the pins).

I like the idea of getting those Diesel gauges, they look like they're much higher quality. I really think that Glowshift and the cheap DEPO, and Prosports among others are basically the same cheap versions made in china.

I've always had a fettish for Autometer cobalts.... Black background, light up blue and has a red needle

Autometer Cobalts are tits.

I currently run 2 autometers and an aem wb. I'll probably add 1 or 2 AEM serials in the near future to monitor other things.

STRI made by defi, innovative very nice simple change colors have peak warning lights very pricey though mine are set red and look clean in a lotek pillar pod. then I got the oh so slow aem uego wb. Don't waste your money on a wideband get a zeitronc zr2 or innovative wb Its really hard to tune with a slow wb unless they made them better over the past years
