I really Like that valve cover. 2.4L n/a right?

Curious as to how the 10.5-1 have been as a daily driver for the past 2 years, I have a 2nd eclipse Im rebuilding the engine in, and this build really opened my eyes for my new daily driver. I'm sure theres a good power difference, just wanted your input thanks! Awesome build and dedication!

It has been fun. I mean there is no huge hp gain in just that. The torque is better down low though and is peppier.

I went 10.5:1 kinda on accident. After that 3rd engine with the low compression pistons that were too small I had trouble finding them in a bigger size. I searched all over and even called Wiseco and they didn't have any. I couldn't wait either due to relocating for my current job so the 10.5s were ordered. I am glad I went with them now and I am excited to see how it will be when I turbo it... Eventually. Damn student loans!!!

Sorry guys no pics of the valve cover installed. Work has been nuts. Ill try to get it on in the next couple weeks and ill update then. I also have everything for the cop conversion I just need to get it all on and play with the megasquirt settings.

Finally got the valve cover installed. Still need to just finalize the wiring on the Audi coils.

I'll post this here too. My girl friend got me a groupon for the motorsport lab. If you don't know them the allow you to take a supercar (Ferrari 360 Modena in my case) around an autocross course with a professional instructor riding along with you. All I have to say is this was an amazing experience and such a great birthday present. Here is a video clip of one of my faster laps.

So I finally got around to laying out the wiring for the Audi COP set up. I need to finalize a few more things but I wanted to post up some pics so you all can see how sweet it looks!! The car is still running on the MSD coil pack right now.

So I will need to Megasquirt before I can use those coils?

I want to megasquirt later but that's when I get my next motor built.

I don't know of any COP set up that will work on the stock ECU.

Come on man just get MS... It will be fun :sneaky:

I promise :thumb:

I really want to megasquirt, trust me. I was just going to wait till I get my old motor built. What can I benefit with Megasquirt with a stock motor.

I am still trying to read about it, I keep getting confused about what all it can control.

It can basically control whatever you want. Off a stock engine I am sure you could see some gains. I know I did after I installed it and started tuning.

All I can say is read read read. The more you read the easier it will be. Start a folder and start saving links. Microsoft one note works good too for getting all the info organized. Unfortunately I didn't do that so my stuff is all scattered LOL.

I know I was looking at this kit.

Megasquirt Complete EMS Kit 95-99 Eclipse/Talon 420a

I still need to read about it and figure out what all I control with it. The kit says it will do the tech. but need to read about what all the stock ecu controls and if I can completely remove it.

Also what do you have the vent lines for the valve cover going to. I don't see a pcv valve or the line that goes to the intake before the throttle body.

I wouldn't order that from CI motorsports. Either DIYautotune or symtech labs for ms stuff.

The AN lines go to a Jegs air/oil separator then the line into the intake goes where the egr used to go. The check valve is inline. I am having touble finding an AN pcv valve so I hid the ugly worm gear clamps and valve beind some wiring.

I've been reading, learning quite a bit. What megasquirt are you running. I was looking at the MS3 as a complete stand alone and completely removed the stock ECU.

running the MS3X this way it is less cluttered in the MS box to run sequential injection and spark. Also I figured it wasn't that much more initially over MS2 that I would just rather have the latest/greatest version.

I also plan on putting together a water/meth kit and using a stock injector so I can control exactly how much is injected instead of messing around with different size nozzles.

Also invest the $50 in the licensed version of tunerstudio. Having VE analyze live is totally worth every single cent!! As you drive the car it dials in your fuel map based on your AFRs and spark map, etc etc.

Also I bought my MS3 as a kit from DIYautotune and put it together over a few weeks in the winter. It was a lot of researching on the MS manual but its all there. Plus I think putting it together was fun, adds some bragging rights and you get to under stand sort of the 'magic' that goes on inside that black box.

I really want to clean up the engine bay. I have a plan on cleaning it way up and keeping the a/c and power steering. I know its going to be a pain and not worth it in most people's eyes but its still and always going to be a did. So' I like that it helps clean things up. I also have to figure out how to still keep the stock ECU at ease to hook back up due to having to worry about emissions :'( but I think I have that figured out too.

I was also looking at the diy sight and I like that you can put it together yourself, saving money and having fun at doing it. Question, now that I know that's what you did, does it come with instructions on putting it together? You saying you had to look up stuff is what confused me.

With your coil set up using MS3 are you using the quadspark ignition module. How do you have your coils wired? If you don't mind.
