Has anyone used this intake manifold yet (Xtreme Fabrications 420A Intake Manifold: 95-99 Eclipse N/T DSM). It looks better than stock although it still uses the stock bottom half of the intake. I like that it can be ported to match my 60mm tb. Any input would help. I cant believe I could not find any post on here about this intake yet. That makes me wonder about it.

I had to weld the lip on mine where it neck downs by the tb mount point. I bored mine out to 60 and it was way to thin so I had to weld it. So when I was at it I welded the egr and old iac holes shut as well. But it was a nice improvement on throttle response.

A friend ported my stock one to 60mm already. But it makes the intake paper thin on one side as stracer107 had mentioned. so I had to JB weld over it to fix it I don't no any one who could weld aluminum. I also plugged the EGR ports It has held up to 15psi this way fore awhile now but at the beginning of next year I plan on getting dynode and hopefully making close to 400whp that means more boost. I am looking for a better intake anyway to help me reach those numbers so I figure kill to birds with one stone. I like that this intake turns into a short runner intake just hoping to find some one who can give me some feed back on it.

I looked into these as well. Couldnt find any flow charts on this but seems like they just made this plenum to turn the factory manifold into a short runner for 420a that go boost. You may be able to get some extra hp out of it if you tune it.

Just be careful with AMM and do not give him money up front. Additionally it will take some time to get a product from him. If you can search the classifieds for a used one.

I can vouch for Doug, the guy that owns Xtreme Fabrications out of TN. stand up guy and knows his stuff.

Just to add a bit, I've owned an AMM intake and it is very worth the time and money. But there will be a lot of waiting as CODE4 mentioned and don't pay everything up front. I went from full spool on a Garrett gt28 @ 9psi on a LOG mani @4500rpm to 2800rpm with a Jeep TB ported to 60mm.

As for XF they do know their stuff and can build your intake to suit and the do communicate very well. I cannot speak for any performance specs...

Just to clarify you went from full boost @4500rpm down to 2800rpm with the AMM intake AND a Jeep TB correct? or with just the Jeep throttle body? Im assuming it was with both the intake and tb but i wanted to be sure

The intake manifold and throttle body have little to no influence on spool up. Being able to flow more air through a certain RPM range could help with spool up but no way will it improve spool by 1700RPMS, not gonna happen. There are other factors here that contributed to the gains you are seeing in spool up.

Thats why I was wanting a little more info on it. Seemed like an awfully large decrease in spool up time. I could see it improving the spool time by a couple hundred rpm or so.

On another note, the Xtreme Fabrications Prostreet tubular turbo manifold for the 420a looks really nice. Hmmm....maybe one day

Call it what you will, but it was what is was. I have multiple confirmations of these facts and stand by my word. If I still had the car and a stock mani I would prove it to you. Sorry that I don't have a video or dyno sheet to do so. Intake a TB size play a HUGE role in turbo and engine performance. Before I went turbo, I stepped up to a Ported Jeep TB on a stock Intake and lost low end torque but gained a little bit of butt-dyno up top. Especially the case after going turbo.

Usually, shorter runners and a larger plenum rob low-end torque and INCREASE spool time. Not the case with my car... and I don't know why.
