Infinite, can you please measure each wire individually? I contacted magnecore this.morning regarding plug wires for the Evo 3 coil pack...

They stated that even the evos use straight ends... but if I could get some measurements they cold make me a custom set to try out and from there offer it to the dsm crowd... If possible from center of the 90* on both sides. and the cost will be no more than a current 1g or 2g set... they go based off wire length..

Edit... maybe a brighter picture of the plug routing as well?

The evos definitely dont use straight end, its around 100 deg or so angle.

That's what Magnecore told me earlier, I was on the phone with them for almost 30 minutes...I thought they had angled ends.....

I would like a set :)

Just not sure whether I should go 8.0 or 8.5....

When I got my intake it came with the coils & Transistor. My 2G NGK wires fit just fine so that what I am using presently. They look like they were made specifically for this application.

The site lists the magnecore part numbers. I'd say call them back and order them by that part number.

I have an evo III mani and head still put together i will take pictures and post. I recently bought an evo3 motor and to get the car back as a DD I installed the 2g head and mani and put the evo3 head and mani away.

Some interesting info on plug wires, never thought that some companies make evoIII wires that should fit properly :ohdamn:

I origionally got a set of Magnecor 1g wires as the 2g Magnecor's I had were too short (when used with the factory wire seperators, which is how I like to run them). Was able to make their fitment work but it wasn't perfect (some wires a bit long).

Recently went with a set of 2g NGK wires as I swapped coil pack location & hoped they would be long enough. They weren't with stock style routing, so I bought a set of 1g NGK wires as well & made a set using wires from 2 sets (expensive way to do it).

Never had any issues with the Magnecor wires, all together probably ran that brand for ~8yrs on 2 sets (only swapped the first set because they were too short with the evoIII). So may see about getting the proper EvoIII version of their KV85 wires.

Does anyone know if NGK makes an evoIII version equivalent to the blue NGK wires that so many run on our cars? (would assume not the same as the OEM NGK part # listed above, as I don't believe these are the same wires)

Would be nice if the boots coming off the coil packs had some sort of angle, as the straight boots aren't the best fitment.

Did some checking Magnecor UK part numbers (like the ones listed above) are not the same as USA part numbers.

I contacted Magnecor & they said their US equivalent to the above UK KV85 part # is 45536. I have not confirmed this but looking into it.

MSD makes wires for a 2g that have 90's on the coil side.

I don't have the Evo III manifold, but I did relocate my coil pack below the manifold by modifying the stock 2g bracket, it'll work with stock 1g wires and also clears the 1g and 2g manifold so I don't see why it couldn't work for this.

So the wires simply pass under the fuel rail and are the perfect length.

Where is it written that visible wires cause your dick to fall off? I love the effort put into hiding wires in the automotive world. If only we could put this much effort into curing cancer.

They aren't necessarily trying to hide them. With a non stock manifold its sometimes difficult to find wires that will reach or fit properly because the coils are relocated from where they would normally be.

I lucked out and got the matching coil pack with my manifold. I'm using 1G spec MSD wires and they fit great.
