Nightmare after nightmare I am finally just putting my stock bottom end back in with new bearings and rings. Should be at the track in a couple of weeks hoping for some low 11s and wont be sad about a 10 second pass. There is a local guy here in slc with a fwd laser on a 6262 stock bottom end and trans ran 2 10.8@137 on friday!! Name is Kevin White!

Lunchbox DSM 10.8@137 VS 2g DSM 11.4 - YouTube

The lunchbox car is the one that he had for sale for $11k. Might be a decent build, but getting $11k for one is highly unlikely.

This season isn't what I did aspect.
Did one 1/4 mile run, with slippling clutch and burning tires: 14.2s @ 117mph.
This run just killed 3 syncro-rings, a clutch and flywheel-frictionplate.

After fixing the tranny and clutch I cracked an axleshaft... after fixing that I did one Autobahn testrun 62mph-124mph @10s.
A few days later the turboshaft-nut losend itself and blocked the compressorwheel from spinning, this otherhand cracked the turbo-shaft.

I hope the car will be driveable again in ~4weeks but I don't know if I will get the chance to do another 1/4 Mile run. (btw. changed 16G wheel to 20G ... if something breaks, its time for an upgrade.)

Heres the rest of my passes from running the 16G. First pass you see the car got out of the groove. One reason not to run a welded diff. My last pass on the video was my 1.60 60' and my 10.60@133.

Damn Justin.. 1.60s aspiring for 1.50s, consider me jealous. I would be ecstatic if my pig ran 1.9x by the time its sorted. Though drag is not is primary focus, it's where it will spend most of its time over the next two years.

Speaking of which, have not shared an update in a while - Tentative schedule for the dyno is early next week, we will be on the gates (1bar springs) for now while I get accustomed to the new setup. Boost controls are not even plumbed at the moment to discourage me from getting greedy while learning. But favorable atmosphere lately combined with e85 and copious amounts of water should allow for good power even at low boost with my meager 8:1 CR. Plan is to make power on revs and taking advantage of the big turbine for a killer whp/psi ratio.

Only one way to find out though!

Nice. I'm hoping to be at the track in a couple weeks. Got a build thread in the Drag Racing section! Hope to be running with Justin (though nowhere near as fast) with the 14b in the next few months!

Can't wait to see your car run landspeed

I sold a few turbos I had laying around to get the twin disc unit while waiting for the Shep box to arrive, so once its broken in it can actually be launched!

That was not originally in the plan so no slicks yet. Just as well though, no safety equipment will get me the boot.. never mind the car is on stock suspension at the moment and very heavy. Then add my 315lbs to the mix LOL

But with some chassis prep having been done like all solid mounts and bushings, half-shaft mod, most of the weight added was over or ahead of the front axle, my fwd Quaife LSD machined for the AWD trans, eventually hooking up boost-by-gear, etc I believe a respectable 1/8th ET could be had before getting out of it so the trap doesn't get me banned.

Street shoes at the moment are only 225mm but 140 wear rating, and 24.8" OD should help with my super tall gearing combo. So many variables.. its driving me nuts.

I will be bouncing some questions and ideas off my fellow Fwd folks once the data and slips start coming in! :D

Well i figured id post here with all the fwd guys but i just got my gst back on the road after 6 months and went abou 3 miles down the road to get gas it drove perfect filled her up then on the way back home the rpm started jumping and i could smell something burning up got home and the tyranny was smoking stared her back up and i can put it in gear and let off the clutch and no stall even put it into gear without engaging the clutch only grinds if i try and put it in reverse without engaging it and will only move at high rpms thinking that the clutch just went bad from sitting so long but any feedback is greatly appreciated

E8/16g 16 psi used street tires 35 psi. Fr tire worn on inside. Engine cranking psi 95#s. Slipping clutch.

That 60' is hilarious! Should have trapped in the 113-115mph range. Not too shabby on the topend, especially at only 16psi!

Boost hits too hard with my twin scroll setup. so no full throttle in 1st or beginning of 2nd.
Also it hasn't been long since I broke my Spider gears so I didn't want to launch too hard again. 1/4 mile track would have been nice. Its deff got the topend.

Edit; yeah I've had a better 60' with a t25. 2.4 sucks.

Very impressive car :)

Thank you.

Dang that yanked to the right...nice runs hit me up if you go down to sac.

Ya welded diff and one tire spinning. Im going to sac this sunday to spectate. To hot to run right now.

Low power light car LOL. Its gonna be nice to finally break the 1.5 barrier. It has not been very easy. Learning it takes a very wide tire and all the stuff dialed.

For those that didnt see the other power we finally did it and broke the UK FWD Record with a 9.322 @ 165.45 into a 20mph head wind.

I haven't seen any engine pictures, what cylinder head are you using? 4G63 or SOHC 4G64?
