This is probably a dumb question, but what is the part called that holds the front suspension in place and bolts up to the knuckle in a 1g? Does anyone know where i can find this part? :hmm:

bottom pic looks like it came off a rear main seal
top pic could be something off your shift linkage or suspension

The other part looks like the collar for the balance shaft

Based on the fact that this is correct -- the collar is a spacer for the front balance shaft sprocket -- I would assume that you've done a lot of work on the front end of the engine and that the spring ring came from the front main seal and not the rear. It appears too small to be for the rear anyway.

But it is definitely from one of the shaft seals (front, rear, cam, oil pump, or front balance, see second picture down here: http://www.streettunedmotorsports.com/parts/oem_4g63_front_main_seal.htm) and, as stated, must be in place. It helps the seal maintain a more consistent contact around the circumference of the shaft.

This is underneath the center console behind the ash tray and cup holder. It was unplugged the whole time and did not know it. I plugged it back in. I want to know what it's purpose is. Thanks for the help.

Airbag module for sure. I believe yellow is the designated color for all SRS wiring.

I just went through it, I think to take full advantage a datalogger and a proper tuning will be needed. I thought it may have been a maft but I didn't see any switches so I wasn't sure. Thanks.

Well easy way to figure this out. Do you have a gm maf installed in the car or the stock 1g maf? Oh never mind I see the gm maf in the second picture LOL!! I believe if you take the cover off you will see the adjustment knobs.

Dude, definitely lucky. Got the car at a great price and its a blast to drive. The idle drops a bit low occasionally but other then that its awesome. Its not a winner in the looks but shes got a killer personality. The kid I got it from did a piss poor install on the gauges. Wires coming through the firewall touching bare metal. I changed that asap.

My answer is probably somewhere in these forums, and I tried searching, but I don't know what it is to search for. : P

One of my next projects is installing my new fuel components (injectors, afpr, fuel pump). But I have an issue, what is this thing? I see a lot of engine bay pics where it seems like it is completely removed, and others where it is looped around in a circle and attatched to the fire wall instead. What is it? What does it do? And can I remove it completely?

Anything else I can remove or relocate when I install these?

Thanks!

^^^^ this. Yes it can be removed if you can source a non-cruise throttle cable to replace it or make one using art of the existing setup ( not worth the hassle if you ask me, a non cruise thrttle cable is like $50 and you can buy it cheaper from the classifieds).

Ok then, I guess there's no point!
