Alright! Should be a second ten second 14b car after this week then!

I do not, the rear subframe bushings are done, but I definitely need to do the rest of the ones on the car. I really need more seat time as well, which became apparent this weekend. I got 2 out of 8 launches correct since the slicks ha ha :banghead:

That's what I'm after. That and some damn 1.5s

The tires are sticking and its transferring to much through the suspension. Have you tried playing with coilover settings?

I did not play with the suspension this weekend. It's tough to tell what to change when I'm all over the place myself. Probably needs to be dialed in though.

Just gotta tame that beast. Once you do, it's game over.

Get any good videos from the launch pad??

:hellyeah:

Should be a couple good videos, not right from the launch pad unless someone else took them though. Some decent on/in car go-pro was taken. I have to collect videos from those people and I'll get my own up sometime today.

We just got home. We are going to run and grab the kids, and then I am going to get all of the footage I have uploaded for you.

I tried to get you to go to Sac earlier in the season:D

Shane is on a mission. At the 1/8, you're looking at at shiny Eagle Talon emblem.

And with a 380 lb. weight advantage, you grab two tenths over the second 1/8, making up the disadvantage to a tenth advantage.

One tenth. Shane will mop more of that up today:hellyeah:

So there's some motivation for you!!!

Passing tech stopped me. No point in traveling to sac to not be able to race. Now that we are awd trans swapped im good to go. Gonna work out a few bugs this fri night and then every trip there after will be sac. I fixed my boost leaks and found a huge problem with heat on the lower intercooler pipe. Both being addressed before fri. Car builds about 3 psi more using the 2-step on this 14b compared to the last time out on the one that leaked.

Should be a very interesting night fri night. We are starting to cool down some in the evenings and not have 80-90 degree nights at 10-11.

Sounds like you got a few extra things sorted out Justin! That extra 3 psi on the launch, plus no leaks going down track should make a nice improvement! The next 10 second 14b...come on down!!!

Was actually just messin with you here, I figured after, like most here, you took offense.

That 3 psi hopefully helps your 60.

Can never go wrong with cooler temps.

Do it up...

No I knew you were messin around. Sorry if my post and attitude comes off, offensively. Really not the case. Maybe I just lack public speaking and social relations since this happens more times than it should.

But I can build one hell of a car that's for sure :D

I hate having training right after the shootout. I get all geeked up about the car and then have to spend several days away from it and can barely find time to check forums and such.

Justin! Where are ya, what were the results from last night? wakey wakey!

I had a friend graciously offer to ship his brand new FP manifold to me for some "testing". I hope to be able to take it to the track and get a back to back run comparison with logs if I can.

Which brings up a last few things. I am definitely going to make every attempt to do at least one more track visit this year. I'll probably head over to Martin (US 131) and see if I can sneak through their tech for a few runs. I need to get a few consistent launches in, along with putting a little more into the tune. She can be leaned out a bit and probably handle a degree or two more timing. I think an 11.0x is in there this year and with alot of luck, maybe even a 10.99. But, it'll probably wait until into september to get the best air possible.

Well as I'm sure some gave predicted......... No 10s. Last night was just a bad track night all around. Air quality was crap from all the smoke blowing in from the cali fire. DA was 6700. Just crap.

I make my first pass off the trailer at an 11.7@119. Car felt dull and tires didn't stick. I clicked start stream in link not capture, so have no idea why the loss of power. Check boost controller and it's 1/2 turn from maxed. I then realize I have my conservative timing maps loaded from the 16g. Slap in the forehead. Second pass got logger goin make pass, get slip says test L and test R. No time and I was pissed. Car hooked good felt stronger much better than first.

I cool down personally start reviewing log and then make a couple boost controller adjustments and add timing. Line up, launch, car gets goofy outta the hole, and second shift was crap. Finish off run at 11.94@119. Log looks good make boost controller adjustment add timing and run [email protected]. Log looks good do another round of tweaks and then run [email protected].

1/8 started at 94.99mph and ended with 96.41. None of my 1/8s were under a 7.4 and all 60' were mid 1.7s. Car is making more power than ever but wasn't hooking and having some very sloppy launch issues. It pulls and does weird stuff until 3rd gear. Very hard to handle. I finished off on a good note knowing I gained some knowledge on the tuning side and how the car handles.

I can honestly say taking my awd and running a 9.9 with a 1.39 60' time, was 1000 times easier than trying to get this fwd to hook a 1.5 and run a good 1/8. I ran my 1.39 60' at this track on a cool day. I'm looking forward to Sacramento now more than ever. I have to fully go through the suspension and find out what the heck is goin on. It needs an alignment again as it pulls at low speeds. I gave myself a deadline this year to at least match Joes record even if it takes 4,5, even 6 more trips to the track. This is one of those things that joe hit a good time fairly quick. It's gonna take some of us twice that amount of time and twice the amount of work to accomplish. But I'm on board for the long haul.

Well, the goodwill project started in the end of 03 and he ran the 10 second pass in September of 05 so I wouldn't say fairly quick. But, I think I know what you mean. He ran 11.2's in Norwalk at the 05 shootout and skipped right to his 10.8-10.9 passes in early September of that year. That kind of time jump was huge!

Bummer that you didn't have the best night. But, we all know not every track visit is going to end in a new personal best and goals met.

For some reason I thought it was less time. In that case on his time frame I have til next sept haha.

I'll get it eventually. Time to wrench some more a d do it again.

Well, that blows. And, you weren't on 14b all year, so if matching/beating Joe's timeframe is of importance to you, then I think you really have a full year left. Keep cracking away, and maybe keep the 14b on the car until your goal is met. Just my .02

No time frame at all. My plan is to keep it on now and for a long while until my efforts have been extended.

I'm thinking about pulling my cylinder head off, putting new rings on the stock pistons, decking the head and putting it back together with a new composite head gasket and ARP studs. I know that's not optimal, but I'm not going to be able to do much more to the car anytime soon because of some other things going on. But I do think that will get the car running better than it is right now!

When the air temps drop in the next 4-5 weeks Things should get real interesting. Good show guys.

This is the time of year I've been waiting for. It's gonna get exciting these next couple months.

Rebuf is a great option. Get the engine just what it needs to live again and start racing. For the 14b a stock engine is more than enough.

I love September racing! Only issue I see is for some reason my local tracks are really cutting back T&T nights after August. The last Midnight Madness event is this friday even. Kind of a bummer but I just might have to make it out.

Moved the Top Ten List up so I can find it easier later, also added my latest time. This list is in need of some movement! Most importantly to me is knocking the English time off the bottom since other then trusting him there is no timeslip or evidence to back it up. Someone new needs to hit the top ten! I also added the year each time was ran.

Steve's close and we have the up and coming Brandon. Hopefully both will make the 11 sec 14b club soon.

I have offered Brandon a good set of stock pistons and rods. Plus Dave w is gonna hook it up on some forged stuff. Now ya just gotta get it goin.
