I'm not gonna go that high Justin, but I'm gonna say about 120.5mph. ET around 11.17 or so!! Just my guess.

Yeah, not a bad baseline Phil, but I had hopes of it hitting 12.7-12.8, and I think it was capable of that as it sits minus the oiling issues. If I would have noticed the oil in the catch can prior to the last 2 runs, I would have cleaned it out and kept running, and at least would have got a stronger run out of those better 60' times.

You might be right. I was that Shane already hit 118 and was goin off that. I'd say 120-121.

He got one full pass last night. Just a couple ticks better than his previous best. I'll let the cat outta the bag.

1.48

7.16 @ 95

11.27 @ 119.3

Super impressive for only one full pass. Hope he'll lay that to waste today. I'm sure he's got some dialing in to do. Launch rpm, slick pressures, etc. And, we know he has another half-tenth minimum to the 60' mark that he left on the table here. I think an 11.1x is in the cards. Possible 11.09.

Congrats Shane! You met your immediate goal for the weekend and the shootout hasn't even started yet.

I know, and you'll definitely get there. Just gotta find the source of the issue. Once corrected, it's just seat time from there. It is a bummer though. I've had my fair share of having cars apart this year. Unfortunately, it's the nature of the beast. A neccessary evil.

Congrats!!! seeming to get faster every week!!!!

Agreed...keep on pushing it Shane!

My car is down for a while. Compression on 3 and 4 cylinder was 105 and 120 respectively. Wet test increased both by about 30 psi, so the rings must be worn pretty bad. Time to save up some extra funds and out in some more weight reduction while she is down.

So there you go....

Can't feel bad about 13.10 with a hurt engine....

Thanks guys! No good internet connection at the track, tuners won't load. But Phil posted the pertinent info. Tonight I should get another run or two in to start dialing in things. I was happy with that for the first full pass though.

Holy smokes! Making significant improvements, congrats Shane!

Very impressive! I would like to see a 1.39x 60' tomorrow. Keep up the good work.

A bunch of us believe that Shane has a 10.99 run in him today. I don't think his pound of ice cream or the Buffalo wild Wings were any help to him yesterday. We will see what today brings.

I have GoPro video and footage from the stands. Going to get more on him today. I will post the videos up more than likely after I get home on Monday.

That would be killer. I say drop slick pressure to 10. Not sure if he bumped launch rpm.

I think he can hit:

1.39
6.99

11.07

Hope I'm wrong and he learns something that gets him into the 10's.

That's doin work Shane. Congrats on yet another pb. Guess I better get my ass in gear. Your inching in on that number 2 spot.

I tried to get you to go to Sac earlier in the season:D

Shane is on a mission. At the 1/8, you're looking at at shiny Eagle Talon emblem.

And with a 380 lb. weight advantage, you grab two tenths over the second 1/8, making up the disadvantage to a tenth advantage.

One tenth. Shane will mop more of that up today:hellyeah:

So there's some motivation for you!!!

Wow! What a great weekend first of all. I had a ton of fun running the car, hanging out with car people, and a new best along with no car issues. :rocks:

Friday, I was pretty nervous and excited on my first pass Friday night. The plan was to launch the car, hit it hard to the 1/8th, then let off. I didn't have to worry about that plan though as I missed 2nd gear.

Second pass Friday night I concentrated a little harder and since it was already getting late decided to do a full pass. That was the 1.48 60' leading to the [email protected]. Finally passed Dave's mph up! To be honest at that point my weekend was just about made. I had that goal of 11.25 and I was awfully close but knew it could/should happen.

Saturday, couldn't wait for qualifying to start, the weather was perfect! I had a good launch, with a little bounce. That was the 1.438 60' leading to the 11.146 @ 118.17 - I predicted there was an 11.1 in the car and it happened! Golden pass, perfect weather, good launch, it all just came together on that pass.

Hindsight is 20-20 but I wish I would have made another pass Saturday night, but it was only one round of qualifying and I figured I'd save it for Sunday.

Sunday, it was already hot by the time we got called up for the 2nd qualifier. I bounced hard coming out of the launch, someone said my front wheels went up, I haven't watched the video of the outside yet, but the inside video I leaped out of the chair on the bounce. It was a mixture of too quick off the clutch and too low of pressure in the slicks. 11.41 @ 117.9

Third qualifying round it was even hotter, put 14 psi in the slicks, smoothed out the clutch let-off to a 1.49 - 11.236 @ 118.83

Eliminations - I was paired up against the Abele car, someone mistakenly told me despite my nearly 1 second disadvantage, I had a chance as she was known to sleep at the tree. Got that stuck in my head and concentrated to hard on actually hitting a light. .291 light (pretty awful but probably my best ever on a pro-tree), but I dumped the clutch, bounced hard again, 1.53 60' 11.444 @ 118.02 - AND she smoked me with a .190 reaction 10.55 run. That girl can drive and that car runs (although it is an auto LOL).

I decided I didn't want to end the weekend on a bad pass so I got in line for a T&T pass. Unfortunately with all the breakage and track clean-ups it took forever in the lines. Really wanted a smooth launch so I probably rode the clutch way to long to a 1.55 60' 11.379 @ 117.88. Car really felt down on power but both the ambient temps and the car temps were too high. I felt it as soon as I hit second, the car just didn't pull the same. I didn't log that pass so I'm not sure but glancing at the temp gauge it may have been pulling timing cause it got too hot. I need a better fan on the radiator.

I did alot of playing with pressure in the slicks trying to optimize the launch but overall the problems really came down to my inconsistency with the clutch releasing. I was either too slow, or too fast with the slip. I did it "right" one time for that money 11.14 pass. (slicks were at 12 psi-ish). I really think at this point it would be in my best interest to get a staging brake in the car so I can start learning to pre-load as well. Also I got to log the 11.14 run and my afr's are around 11.2:1 on corn! I can definitely lean that out although it's probably not alot of power there. Timing is still conservative, peaking at 18*, and boost goes to 23 psi (2 down from that 11.3 run in may). The ram-air definitely helps alot as seen in the mph and et gains.

I'll get a couple videos up soon so ya'll can laugh at a couple of my launches, and get to see the good pass :rocks:

Had fun last night. Had some issues, but saw some improvements as well! My tow dolly is now about half broke as well. Feel free to look at my build thread in the Drag Racing section for a full update on the night and what I found. Here are the numbers from my runs:

60' - 1/8 time/ET - 1/4 time/ET

2.239 - 8.670 @ 85.342 - 13.328 @ 103.635
1.934 - 8.407 @ 84.427 - 13.109 @ 103.152
1.954 - 8.374 @ 84.886 - 13.106 @ 101.408
1.827 - 8.359 @ 81.804 - 13.290 @ 95.084
1.781 - 8.325 @ 94.757 - 13.295 @ 95.725

The car definitely had the 12.7-12.8 I was looking for, but the issues stopped it. It will be a bit before I head back...probably a month or so, maybe a little longer, but I'll plug away at the car as I can!

Glad you got to the track, too bad about the motor issues though. The good thing is now you know and can get it sorted out. Definitely an easy 12 in there with a healthy motor. :thumb:

My god, what is she weighing these days?

On the scales there 2430 with me in the car OMG
But, someone actually mentioned that the scale read 30 lbs heavier then the corner balancing scales they had just used, so maybe actually lighter! Not that it means much, but it still has all glass and a stock fuel tank setup! But, it needs a roll bar now too.

Very impressive! I would like to see a 1.39x 60' tomorrow. Keep up the good work.

I believe it's possible, sorry I couldn't make it happen this weekend. I think a combination of pre-loading and another crazy high rpm launch could do it. But, I'm not sure it's worth the risk of breaking things just to get that number. If I can figure out consistent low 1.4's I'll be happy. But, if I was oh-so-close to a 10.99, it could happen.

Thanks again for letting me borrow the go-pro! There could be a 10.999 run in the car somewhere, with some better tuning, and definitely some better driving on my part. Right now if I had to predict I'd say the car has a 11.0x in it, just needs a little tweaking in some areas and another quality launch/pass on a cool day.

Sounds like a great weekend, Shane. Glad you guys had fun, had some good racing, got some new PB and had no real issues with the car. Time to go with a fuel cell and cut down another 35lb from the fuel tank! Keep up the good work. I'm sure the left leg consistency will come in time!

It does suck about my car, but I will take my time and hope to have it done in the spring. I will probably shoot to make it to our season opening import event.

Thanks Brandon! Consistency will come with practice as you said. Despite having drag raced for the past 5-6 years I usually only get 1-3 track visits a year and only a handful of passes per visit. I'm not very experienced!

I can't wait to see your car done up right again, it's one of the cleanest I've seen!

Sounds like a very exciting weekend shane. And again another personal best. Sounds like you got some work in the suspension/driver department and the car should definatly hit 11.0-10.99.

Do you have all the suspension bushings done?

I'll be taking some 14B shots Fridays. Should be better now that the turbo isnt leaking like the last one.

Alright! Should be a second ten second 14b car after this week then!

I do not, the rear subframe bushings are done, but I definitely need to do the rest of the ones on the car. I really need more seat time as well, which became apparent this weekend. I got 2 out of 8 launches correct since the slicks ha ha :banghead:
