I'm looking at buying a fmic for my galant vr4 but dont have money to get the ets fmic. Are there any other intercooler cores I could get that would work with custom piping thanks for help.

The 1g VRSF kit is about as bolt in on a GVR4 as it is on a 1g. Cheaper than the ETS and still overkill for most builds.

You can't go wrong with vrsf plus its on sale still $350ish and free shipping for a sick fmic, you can't beat that bro! I have a vibrant fmic (used on my gst prier when it was running low 12's) http://vibrantperformance.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=1022_1071_1199
and custom made 2.5" ic pipes and hks ssqv on my gvr4, my talon will have a big cx racing http://www.cxracing.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=CXR&Category_Code=Eclipse-2G
core with 3" ic piping and tial bov, and my gst is about to get the vrsf kit and 1g bov. All my custom pipe cars I get the piping thru http://www.siliconeintakes.com/
and I cut and weld them to my liking. But for the 14b ill be running on the gst next the vrsf will be a perfect fit. But if you got the cheddar and plan to go big ets can't be beat.

Ok thanks guys ill probably go with the vrsf Kit but I would have to get custom piping still wouldnt I or will the 1g piping work on vr4 thanks again.

Like everyone has said, go with the vrsf, or try to look around for a used FMIC...if you're looking for more of a budget FMIC. It may even come with all the hard piping. Just try and keep and eye out and make sure you got $$ in the bank to make a deal

I just mocked up a 1g VRSF kit. It wasn't too bad, I had to trim the passanger side bumper beam mount, had to remove a bracket on the driver side by the a/c lines, had to trim a little in that spot and then trim a little on the passanger side to fit the piping through. Also had to trim the grille bracket on the passanger side. Didn't have to trim the actual bumper beam at all nor the fascia. It's a tight squeeze but it fits. You'll want to get either a 2 inch or bigger half Honda radiator or a scirricco radiator, as the stock one will be too long with the piping.

It's a little work, nothing major, and I'm very happy with it!

I just picked up a used 1g vrsf fmic for $250. No j-pipe though. It's no prob. I'll ghetto rig it until i get to Tampa and fab one up at my buds shop using the preexisting flange. Definitely get a vrsf as a starter kit. When you get the money spend it wisely on a Garrett intercooler with cast ends. Those Garrett's have the best efficiency out there.

The 1g VRSF piping is essentially bolt in on the VR4. Like I said it's basically a full bolt in kit like a 1g would be.

Vrsf if u cant afford ets kit and if your really hurting to get one then the punishment is decent too.

Thanks for the info tyeler18, I just decided to put my vibrant fmic back on the gst. And get the 1g vrsf fmic kit for my 91 gvr4! :) it will be much better since I kinda rigged up the ic pipes on the gvr4 and would definitely like the vr kit on that instead. Ordering one today :)
