Spun a bearing, got a crank I pulled from a junkyard. I'm pulling the block to get it cleaned and check the rods, and take the crank for a micropolish.
I drove it in this morning, had gotten the intake and heatshield as well as the bolts off the turbo(like to do these while its still hot) Then decided to snap a pic.

And how I stopped for the day, may work on it more tonight, getting hungry though:

The motor mounts nuts are all off, and all but one tranny bolt, everything else I need to do involves me getting under the car and I had already showered and changed and didn't wanna crawl under there yet.

Great progress Chris! Hope you get it up and running soon.

I had spun a rod bearing about 3-4 months ago when i was running my 18g. My boost line came off to the wastegate and ran the turbo at the max and im guessing the crankcase pressure blew off the infamous fram oil filter.

Good thing my car died on the spot. I pushed it 3 blocks down to my house.

Im guessing im one of the lucky ones. No virtual scratches on the crank and plasti gauging the rod bearing, the clearance checked out just fine.

Nice, Yea I was dumb I saw it smoking and I drove it those three blocks to my house, I'm pretty sure the damage was done already though. was driving for a while and noticed at the light.

In the hangout its okay to double post no? If not mod can merge thanks.

Finished pulling it out and disassembling, oil pump is trashed, Just need to pull the mains and get the crank out which I'ma do right now and take it to the machine shop tommorrow.

It wasn't today (yesterday), but I replaced my broken Rear-quarter window.

How was that? You just heat gun it til the adheaive was gooey and then rip it out?

Basically, you break the old one, then cut the urethane with a knife while pulling the old window trim away from the car. Then clean it and glue the new one up. I just posted a somewhat-VFAQ in the Appearance section.

Sweeeeeeeet. I had an idiot tinting my windows a few weeks ago tell me "these arent eclipse windows... (Back quarter) These are talon windows thats why the computer cut film doesnt go all the way 1" past the dot matrix"

I just stared like WTF

There were a couple of different windows out there. 99s (and maybe 98s) has slightly smaller visible portions of the windows (the dot pattern is smaller). Some of the talons also had the anomaly windows too, with the extra plastic trim on the back. 95-97s all had the largest area.

You may have earlier windows on your 99. Tell him to put in 95 for the year, instead of 99. It might fix the problem.

Maybe i need to grind off some of the clamp mouth so it's thinner (looks like it's designed for a wide spring.

Scratched the shit out of my anodized top hat and spring seat :( someone link me a how to assemble these things.

Adjust the height part down,(black ring on bottom) Then adjust it back up after you get them off?

Do most people adjust the ride height all the way up to start?

How do they look?

Nvm jay hooked it up with instructions, i need koni bump stops.

So for all of you thatever in the future do DG konis, you DO NOT use a spring compressor! Lesson learned.

Swapped out my 1g style injector clips for the typical 2g style ones. It's so nice to have injector clips that actually CLIP onto the injector!
