I've looked everywhere on the internet for the answer I can't seem to find the location of the flasher relay. I know where the flasher unit is ( behind the stereo). I can't find it I cut my wrist open trying to find it got 9 stitches. I was told in other forums its under the dash tobtge left if the fuse box other forums yeil me its right above the brake pedal and others tell me its in the passenger side and I can't find it anywhere. I looked on the internet, looked in chiltons manual, and I called a fellow Dsm freind and I can't seem to find the answer to this small problem.

Oh sorry, I saw the 96 nt in your profile and assumed that it was what you were referring to. I check on my 1g tomorrow, but I am pretty sure it is under the radio but above the mpi relay. I'll try and get a picture.

Thank you!

I didn't get a chance to get to my car today but I did find some info in the manual.

I pulled the side panels off the center console to see if I could feel the clicking on a relay. I found that the black box in the picture was doing the switching. If you pull off the side carpeted panels it is not too bad to get at. However, I didn't unplug it to make sure it would stop everything if removed.

The information I pulled together is that this flasher relay doesn't really exist. The you took a picture of the flasher unit. I know where that is and ive taken it out to look for leakage, but there is no leakage. I took my hazard switch out because i read in a thread that if its sticking in and not completely un engaging then it causes turn signals not to work. so i took the switch out and apart because it wasn't clicking in and out like it was suppose to and i took it apart and got it to where doesnt go in at all just stays out. Then my hazards quit working. Tomorrow i am going to go to the junk yard and pull a hazard switch out, and a flasher unit and see what that does. I want to resolve this issue because there is not much information on the internet about it. But what puzzles me the most is that the flasher (relay) is said to be to the right of the fuse box and i cant seem to find it and it makes me fustrated. I dont think that the part you get from the part store is the correct part. I think that the relay they are assuming is just a regular relay you can pull out of your engine bay fuse box and use that as the relay. and the part store is handing out the wrong part for it. I have a chiltons manual but says nothing on it.

Hyper blink... a turn signal flasher relay mod - DSM Forums: Mitsubishi Eclipse, Plymouth Laser, and Eagle Talon Forum: DSMtalk.com
This thread kinda verifies that it verifies the turn signals and it seems to have no relay. on the cirrcut board looks like 2 relays itself.

Turn signal flasher question... please help! - DSM Forums: Mitsubishi Eclipse, Plymouth Laser, and Eagle Talon Forum: DSMtalk.com
this shows that the flasher relay is to the left of the fuse box. and the discription says that its under the steering colum above the brake and to the right of the fuse box. and you cant go to the left of the fuse box because its just metal there.
So i think if you are looking for this relay you are most likely wasting your time. i think the things you have to look for is the turn signal switch. flasher unit (located behind the radio) and your hazard switch.
tomorrow when i replace the hazard switch and the flasher unit i will post and tell you what the out come of this is.

I went to the selvage yard and I grabbed a hazard switch..... Plugged that puppy in and my turn signals started working. And the 3 prong relay is found behind the radio on the left on the inside of the compartment and i found this in the eagle talons at the selvage yard and the eclipse has the box it seems like....
