English Racing got the car back out to the track with the new crankcase vent system and 3" aluminum exhaust. Still at 26psi. Nailed a 1.49 60' and the car finally went the 9 second pass! Gained another 2 MPH as well! Car is ready for the Shootout in a couple weeks! Bring on the DSE class! :hellyeah:

:like: Looks like she is moving now!

:thumb: Awesome!

congrats man, I hope to get there myself one day. maybe next year....:hmm: I'm gonna need some bigger cams I think.

The look on your face when you got that text message.....I wish I could dig my phone out of my firesuit (I was strapped in my car at the time) right at that moment! Congratulations.....you're going to be tough to beat in 2 weeks!!

Was this with the 476hp listed under your av? Either way nice man!
I don't have a dyno sheet for this new motor setup. The 476 I have on my profile was last season with the 8.5:1 2.0L and FP3065 at 31psi. This year the car made the same horsepower at only 26psi with the new motor. High stall automatics are deceiving on the dyno because of how the converter slips. Based on a conservative estimate of 15-18% loss due to the very loose converter, with a 5-speed the car would have made in the 565-590hp range.

Have you always used e98 with the set up? I'm working towards running a turbo on my 10.5 comp motor and was curious about the octane guys are using.
Yes, with this new motor I have always run E98. I've used Q16 in the past because E98 was over-running my fuel system and really liked it but $15-$20/gal was hurting the wallet. So I spent the extra money to upgrade my fuel system and go back to E98 which is only $4-$5/gal. I'd say the E98 is arguably better while being cheaper.

Huge congrats man! Makes me want to upgrade to a 3065! Rock that DSE class!

What Precision converter are you using? Does it take very long to spool up? I'm looking to make in the 400whp range but not sure if I need a Precision or just a re-stall. Might even try a 2.3l..

To be honest, I really don't know which Precision converter I have. I bought it from Scott at AMS 4 years ago after he decided not to use it on the AWD Mirage. He said it was built to stall a 65+mm turbo. That's all I know. It's worked great for me with the 3065. Also, unless you're running a 2G tranny, Precision won't build you a converter anymore. They haven't built them for 1Gs for a really long time.

E98 costs you $4-5?? The station 20 mins from my house is only $2 for E98 and middle $2 range for E85
English Racing gets their E98 500 gallons at a time. That's just what they sell it to me for. I'm sure they make some kind of profit.

What did you run last year with 476hp?
I ran E98 last year as well.

I bet you can't wait to feel a 9sec pass on your car. Let's see a few at the shootout.

Curious what trap rpm you're seeing with this setup?

What's your rpm limit with the 2.2L?

I live in southeast Kansas. And fuel isnt that cheap here. 91 octane costs 3.89 right now and e85 is in the $2 range just haven't paid attention to what the exact prices are lately because I haven't been to the town 20 mins away with the e85 and e98 station.

anyway congrats on the 9 sec pass bro!!

I've watched this car at the track the last few weeks. It's so dang fast! Grats mate!
Glad you were able to see Lucas tearing it up. Sadly for you guys out in the PNW, you're losing a quick DSM once it comes to the Shootout in 2 weeks because I'm taking it home with me to Maryland. :hellyeah:

I would love nothing more than to be in the car right now running a 9-second pass. I know I've made these posts when I wasn't the one driving but I'm hoping for good things at the Shootout when I'm driving it again. The car has a lot more boost left to use but no point in running it super hard right now. The Shootout is all about reliability and consistency. It's going 9s at 26psi. If we go rounds and come up against a tough competitor, who knows where the boost will end up... :sneaky:

What's your rpm limit with the 2.2L?
I'd have to ask Lucas for the logs to see where it's hitting the traps. I don't know at the moment. Once I have the car back to myself I'm going to get more of those logs and get that kind of information.

I've only heard of one other car running this 153mm rod 2.2L before and that was an Evo that English Racing built late last year. So, the RPM limit is up in the air, really. A 150mm rod 2.2L has an even better rod ratio than a 156mm long rod 2.4L and there are Evo guys running those out to 9000-9500. We decided on the longer 153mm rod to have a little more breathing room above 9000 but we'd like to stay out of that range as long as we can. At the moment the car is shifting at 9000 but that may come down after some more testing. The car already doesn't drop under 7100-7200RPM the entire pass. We could probably go with a slightly tighter converter and gain a little efficiency up top. We'll see how the rest of the season goes. We're also only running an Evo 3 intake manifold and GSC S2 cams to help with low/mid range torque so 8500RPM+ breathing is already hurting a little. My guess is an FP3582HTA is in my future but right now we have a great combination of parts that are working really well. No reason to switch. :thumb:

Lol I meant track times!

Haha sorry! The car went a best of 10.29@132 and best MPH of 134 last year with that 476 dyno sheet. Again, last year was an 8.5:1 2.0L FP3065 at 31psi on E98 and nitrous to stall the converter. This year is 10.5:1 2.2L FP3065 at 26psi on E98 no nitrous going 9.93@136.
