So I would be a first timer going Is It worth going to? everyone seems to wanna go bad.:p

Come here so i can smack the sh*t out of you :D

just the mear fact that you know everyone wants to go bad should be plenty of indication of what its like.

Its pretty much your MECCA as a DSM'r
the absolute pinnacle of dsm/evo racing
No other event will come close anywhere in not the state, not the country.. but the world. :thumb:

I have yet to see a track scrutinize helmets for anything slower than 9.99.

Will the standard NHRA autostart and 7 second timeout be implemented on the pro tree in the DSE class? I really hope it is. In my opinion it's the only way to keep things fair. 5-speed cars trying to burn down the automatics or automatics taking 10-15+ seconds to stall up isn't right. Again, in my opinion.

THIS!!!!
Can someone give us an official answer? We've been to quite a few NHRA sanctioned events and had issues with the track not caring about the 7 seconds. Will the rule apply AND will the track have it set to this as well??

You sure about that? Street bike (motorcycle) helmets are "M" rated, not "SA". I don't know how picky tech is going to be in regards to that though.

Yup, says right on the back. "Snell Approved" with a big DOT under it. I had to have this kind of lid to get my bike license in Ca.

Right, but it's not SA, right? "Snell approved" is a general term. Automotive racing required Special Application (SA) approval. Your helmet probably says M05 or M10, right?

Though, as mentioned, tech usually isn't all that strict at the SO. Just figured it was worth mentioning all of this in case you try racing with that helmet somewhere that is strict on tech.

Helmet Technical Date

The tracks I run at look at the sticker under the lining on the inside of the helmet, it must be a SNELL 2005 or newer in there or else it doesn't pass tech.

They don't care if it's "M" or "SA".

You sir have convinced me LOL but can we do without the smacking :D

I heard that your allowed camping at the track, is this true? Because if it is, that's what me and my friends are doing. Anybody have info on this?

What's not mentioned in the first post, is that we have to camp in the parking lot. The "campground" side of the facility (pictured in my avatar) will be closed. At least that's what I was told when I called the track.

Yes, I believe camping will be allowed again on the parking lot side like it was last year. There are some small grass islands spaced out along the entire parking lot side and if you intend to camp, that is where you need to set up your tent. If you have a motorhome or camper you can just park it there anywhere on the parking lot side. If you had to I guess you could put a tent on the asphalt, but you wouldn't be able to stake it. I wish they would open the other side to camping, but unfortunately because of bad behavior in past years at this event, I can see why they don't do that now.:toobad: I will be camping at the track as that's what I did last year and it worked out well with the three day style event. Go to sleep listening to cars...:D Wake up listening to cars...:D What's not to love! It's the Shootout! :hellyeah:

you dont just park anywere with a RV - along the fence is were the power/water is.

We're bringing some shirts with us.

-Michael

All those FP Shirts are a big bucket of win. Don't know how much the wife would like me wearing the last one in public, but I can't really recall the last time that I cared that much LOL.

Chris:

Have you been to the shootout before? I don't recall seeing you mentioning that you have been there in the past.

Nope, I'll be a Shootout rookie. ;)
