So a few months ago I was driving and around right turns and over bumps the car would click, click so I went ahead and changed the driver side cv axle thinking that would fix the problem.

well here I am today with a newer used axle and I still have the same click when turning right doesn't matter if its a slight right or a hard right.( left hand turns are fine no click or anything, Could a bad wheel bearing cause that?)

Is there something I'm missing here? what else could possibly click click click when doing turns?

thanks for helpful replys.

Yeah you changed the wrong axle LOL. Most of the time whatever way you turn and it clicks that's the side needing changed.

+1, you can usually look to see if the axle is bad, look at all of the boots, if one is torn and you see axle grease, its bad. The clicking comes from dirt getting in there.

Yeah you changed the wrong axle LOL. And what do you mean newer used? Like a reman axle or straight used? That could be your problem.

the axle was a good one off a parts car which was fine.
also the boots do not have rips or anything.

so right turn would be the passenger axle?ROFL

EDIT: can anyone give good advice on where to order new axles for AWD 1g? thanks.

x2 on wrong axle LOL. switch it out. if it still persists the only other thing that is rotating is the wheel bearing... minus the wheel of coarse:thumb:

Wheel bearing is a possibility. Usually when you get clicking noises on right turns that indicates problems with your driver side axle/cv due to weight shifting to the opposite side during the turn.

I would think a wheel bearing would be more of a constant noise or at least a grind not a click. I guess any things possible..

well I'm 89% sure the driver side wheel bearing is on way out as well, coasting in N @ 50ish getting off the freeway I can feel alot of vibration/ whining sound.

but no one answered the question.... does anyone know where a good place to get cv axles for 1G? front and rear axles.

thanks

Call Marty at Raxles.

emailed them, got a quick response.

asked if they had cv axles both front/rear and I got "sorry we do not have those"

Sounds like a driver side wheel bearing. But if you want axles, usually your local part stores will sell remanufactured ones for around $59-$69 each. No core required.

thanks, the specs. shouldn't be any different from the OEMS correct? I understand I can order Passenger side, what about both rear axles?

Thanks.

EDIT: hmm is this the driver side CV axle/ intermediate shaft one?http://www.autozone.com/autozone/pa...mIdentifier=131145_356951_4281_1196,2805,3498

I thought they didn't sell the driver side ones...

Could be lower control arm ball joints as well. When they get worn they have play in them and can cause a clicking sound. Turn your steering wheel back and forth and have someone check how much play they have. You may even hear the clicking.
