I'm on the fence as to whether I should create a Video/DVD for this year's shootout or not and would like to get some input from everyone.

Thoughts? Suggestions? What did you like about previous videos that you'd like to see continued? What weren't you creazy about that you would change?

I'd change nothing, you did a damn good job doing the 2012 DVD. Hopefully you do this another year, it will be my first S.O. and I'd like to have something to remember it by other than just the video/photos I take.

Nice to have something compiled into one DVD to watch.

I guess if you're looking for recommendations. Maybe you could show the classes running and then, before you show the cars race, the driver interviews to make it more personable.

I think showing the class name would really help and mabey show the ladders also

YES! I've watched the 2012 DVD once a week for the past 6 weeks, its getting me pumped! I don't really have any suggestions either, the video last year was awesome!

My kids and I have been watching last years DVD like crazy. If you make another one, I will definitely own it. I did not get to make last years shootout, but I for sure got the DVD. Thanks for what you do! Keep it up!

Maybe more intrest in some of the slower cars aswell.

Definitely buy another if it's made. I know that makes it hard for you to actually hang out and have fun at the Shootout, /J, but your one weekend of filming and months of post-prod sure bring us DSMers a lot of pleasure.

Would you elaborate? Which video or DVD are you referring to? If it was the DVD, was it the dragracing in the Featured Video or in the Drag Racing extras?

I have bought the 2012 DVD, awesome video for sure.

Wow, you're in France? I was amazed at how many international dvd orders I got. Thank you for your support!

I agree with you about the 420p. Unfortunately, the only alternative is a 15 minute 720p video or making a blu-ray (which increases the cost significantly). I did use the maximum bitrate on the dvd for the best quality possible.


Would anyone else be interested in a Blu-ray instead of a DVD? The cost would be an extra $15 - $20

J you definitely need to go down there and actually enjoy a weekend!! Hell, bring Beaky down and just beat on that thing all weekend! Hire a bunch of little Cong minions to do the filming haha!

Agreed on not changing a thing. The 12' video was ####ing amazing.

I've heard people, who've never heard of shootout before, talk about going this year because of that video.

I would definitely interview some more of the little guys. Yeah the big name guys are cool, but the little guys put all they have into getting to this place every year.

Blu Ray & keep the music!

Maybe do blu ray as an option for people with players. I would like a standard dvd though.

Glad to hear you are doing another one J! I think it will be great no matter how you do it. You have great skills! I would like to see some raw documentary, but you also do a great job with your style you add, so don't stray away from that too far. Also please do a normal DVD, because not all of us have Blu-ray. It's our first year attending! I would love to be able to see some footage if we're lucky enough to be caught racing!!

Glad your making another DVD /J! Last years was the best DSM video I've seen my entire life. Thank you for taking the time to do this for all of us, your making some damm good Documentation of DSM history right here and I hope you continue to do this for us.

Last years choice of dubtep was spot on, especially "secrets" by klaypex, that song now reminds me of the shootout and JaX's 2G because of you and honestly I can't wait to jam that all the way there this year. Your editing skills are out of this world. I just wish the HD intro part of last years DVD was longer. Oh and I loved the coverage on the Dyno day!

Keep up the hard work and again, thank you from all of us for doing this again this year.
