I've been trying to dial my car in so I took it to the only dsm tuner shop around me. Apparently my timing has been off for a while now. It was off a tooth at the crank sprocket and a tooth on the cam gear. Well they fix it which was awesome my car ran perfect from top to bottom. About 80 miles later my passengers mount snapped right where the power steering bolts up under the cam gear. No issues with getting it fixed by the shop. I'm curious as to how or what could of went wrong. Any ideas? My car is roughly around 180hp unknown torque but I don't think I have the power to break something like that. So I thought someone would know here. Thanks guys

Why not post a picture so we aren't sitting here just guessing?

Also, I doubt it makes anywhere near 180 horsepower.

I cant see these to different things relating to each other. Bad timing maybe, no pun intended.

Your like the negative Nancy of this forum. Do you ever have any thing good to say? I said 180hp not whp. I know I'm right around 180hp don't really care what you think. And you have no informative information why waste your time to post. I'll put some pictures up since you need them to answer my question I thought I explained it fairly well.

1) You're*
2) Yes, plenty. If you can't find a positive post, you ain't lookin'.
3) Your butt dyno needs to be re-calibrated.
4) Your post was lacking a single shred of useful information.

I responded in the hopes that you would realize how useless your thread is, and actually post something that enables us to answer the question. People expect telepathy around here.

Useless? Yeah because tons of 420a guys snap mounts daily right? I took my car into a shop and 4 days later my mount snaps. That was my info period. Sorry I'm not some engineer with mad skills to write more knowledge facts about something I don't know about. My bad for posting a problem that I've never came across. Just trying to gather as much as I can about my issue for others in the future.

I'm still trying to get pictures up but my wifi isn't uploading

Was it the whole mount that broke or just the power steering part? Only thing that would make me think it would break would be if it wasn't tightened down all the way. that would also mess the the tensioner pulley that's behind there.

You are talking about the mount that bolts to the block not the upper mount that bolts to the body correct? I have never heard of these breaking.

Im also guessing loose bolts could be the cause of the mount failing. Those bolts can be hard to get to and maybe they didnt torque them to spec and they worked loose.

Sorry guys my phone won't let me upload pictures today. But yeah the plate that bolts to the block that ties the mount into the subframe. I have never heard of that breaking either so I had to post it on here. It broke by the top bolt to the power steering bracket straight down about 4-5 inches. I was so shocked it happened I wasn't sure what to think or come up with how or what the cause was.

Would one loose bolt really cause that? I triple checked everything they did and it seemed solid. Thanks for the replies anyway.
