So having to upgrade to a bigger wire due to current being excessive on the primary side of the coils. Looking into running 2 pairs of +12V and Battery Neg runs to keep current below 20A on 12GA wire, I then plan to tie this in on the other end (engine harness side) in to either 10GA or 8GA don't think I need to change that really as it'll be connected to the ignition switch for it's +12V constant.

After a few months of "research and development" I have nearly finished the wiring harness for the ignition coils, just needing to solder (using high temp solder - just in case) the wires and that half is good to go. Gotta finish building the other half (engine harness side), I've got all the connectors for the ECU to re-pin and change AWG on a few wires... that'll be fun.

Also, just upgraded my transmission to a Stage 3 TRE w/ 4-spider differential, and got a combo deal on a Jack's Transfer Case! Gotta love the market place on here. Anyways that's an update of what's going on... pictures to come. Engine is also almost built - looking forward to having that finished as well!

Sweet build brother your gonna love the tre transmission they are a great shop here in my hometown, gonna get me another one built again one day, love the wiring project looks good, subscribed here in the states.

Thanks! Yeah I hope everything turns out nice in the end, maybe after I'm done I'll have some new ideas for the dsm-world to pick up on in the future. :thumb:

So I've completed a portion of the wiring harness and started working on the engine harness side of the harness, along with the "power" harness for the ignition system. Since I'm relocating the battery to the back I'll be wiring it up a bit different so we'll see where this goes...

Also received a LSD rear differential from a 99 GSX, just needs some cleaning up and inspection.

Pictures of my progress, more to come! Engine is currently being built so awaiting confirmation of completion!

Thanks!

So I figured something out last night, the output on the PTU for coils 1 & 4 don't go to the VSS (dumb on my part) but to a random connector that is used to apparently measure 1/2 the RPM response of the engine. Anyways, my plan now is to take the SW +12V that originally went to the PTU, along with the ground and use them to power/set the 40A SPDT relay that will power the two 12GA wires going to the four coils (2 set pairs). Figured it' be easier than trying to tap into the ignition switch... will post pictures of the completed ignition setup!

So I'm apparently waiting on my Manley valvetrain parts to arrive... well I guess until those arrive I'm in waiting mode. Although later on this year I'll be getting all the "finishing" parts in December... come January I should have the car shipped here and then it'll be install time of everything and then the Nuremburgring!

So I guess I got lucky this past weekend... was looking at getting a S366 for $800 but instead I found on Ebay a 5K mile GT4088R w/ 1.19 A/R turbine housing (going to change out for .85 A/R) for around $1050, person even paid for shipping and insurance... also gave me some hardware too. Here are the pictures, I'll post more once it gets here, gotta take her apart and fully inspect it, and replace the turbine housing.

First off, that's some serious dedication for the wiring harness. It just shows how silly the stock one is. Also, I must thank you for the build list, as it reminded me of some stuff i missed.

Sounds good nice to see some work from overseas brother, looking at getting some forged stuff this week, keep it up.

Thanks, yeah I feel like of all the things I've researched the ignition has been by far the most intense only for the fact that everyone either runs a CoP or standard coils, mine are halfway between CoP (high discharge and internal PTUs for each coil) and are inductive like the standard coils... I'll post pictures of the engine harness/battery relocation side once completed. No problem, a few things changed on the list but instead of changing the list I'm just changing it as I go along.

Thank you, just trying to get it running again so I can ship it to my location (currently state side). Good stuff on the forged parts, can't wait to get my engine up and running to see how a 2.3L feels (only been rockin' the 2.0L).

I actually Think the S366 would have been a better pickup but that is a nice turbo. If I recall right twick made 690whp or there abouts with the same turbo.

Funny enough, he sort of pointed me in this direction, and you would be correct on that number. Actually I think he only made about 640awhp, but on race fuels made upwards of 800+.

Went with the GT4088R only because it was in pretty good condition and was $800 cheaper than buying brand new, not to mention I almost had my hands on a S366 but I was looking for water cooled as well - unfortunately it wasn't. My main purpose for this is mostly street driven, opposed to mostly track; my goal will definitely a feat that I can't wait to get to but will be extremely tough when trying to keep it in that "powerband."

Just ordered a 3G brake booster to replace my current one to upgrade the hydraulics for the Brembo brake setup that I have. Also, finished part of my ignition harness, soldered the power wires on just needing to get my ECU grounds and cylinder head grounds done and I'm good to go. Will post pictures once the harness is fully completed (needing to take it to work to finish out the last lil' bit).

Small update, finishing the rest of the coil side harness, will be starting the engine side sometime in the up coming days/week or so...

Coming along, looking at some brembos for my set up for next years build. Loving that turbo nice and big and shiny. Props man again nice build thread.

Speaking of Brembos, I finally got my brake booster in to help with the pressure on mine. Just need to get the ABS delete and a few SS lines to go to the booster and I'll be GTG for the brakes! Stoked!:hellyeah:

Although I'm not much of a cosmetic kind of person I figured if I'm going to drive it here in the UK (Europe area) I'd rather have some legit amber corners and foldable mirrors to help with them "tight" spots (lots of them - if you've ever been).
