So I have stock suspension on my 2g and I really want something new. I am gonna go ahead and say that I don't have a budget for the most part because I will save to buy the best quality stuff possible. I am looking for coilovers. I am looking at tein flex, tein SS, BC BR, and the KW coils. I have had the koni yellow and GC on another car and liked them but want to so something different for the 2g. I know some other friends using the tein flex and BC BR but on other kinds of cars and heard bad things. I am wondering who has used some of these and what people recommend from personal experience! I have searched and searched and never get that straight of an answer so I would like to hear from guys currently running some nice coil setups

I have heard some good things about the Megan coilovers. I want to say a vender just had a special on them too.

I am on an Eibach prokit with KYB AGXs.

The k&W units are the best ones on your list. go with them and you will be happy.

Do you know how they are between variant 1-3. I know the variant 3 are supposed to be really good but haven't heard much of the others

Variant 3 are the only option for these cars. If you've got no budget, that's the way to go with spherical bearing upper plates/standoffs.

You'll probably be looking close to $3k for the setup just to give you an idea and see how flexible your budget is.

That's a lot of money but every review that I have seen online all say that it is worth every penny if you can afford it. Still not sure if its worth it. Very indecisive about this. Are there many people running the variant 3's on here??

Well I am extremely picky with my cars and want it to handle as best possible. When I did research on the KW I was hearing very good performance from them but also at the same time they were extremely comfortable ride at the same time. My car has a fully built motor and is exactly where I want it to be performance wise and its time to focus on the handling part of it. I just picked up Evo brembos for it and next step is suspension. For now it will be street drivin (I like to use cars to their potential) and I would really like to get into autox. I have been lucky enough to drive many different cars like full track subarus. And a 370z Nismo in my family. After driving them I have had the itch to make my car handle the best possible

If you want the best, that's it (without getting crazy ridiculous and going with a true racing setup that'll cost more than your car).

If you want 2nd best and something a little more affordable, build this setup.

You could also do the Koni/GC combo as you mentioned before. That's a proven setup in the autox world.

All 3 of those setups will handle well and give you a smooth ride. The Tein/Megan/etc. will most likely be more on the rougher side because of the lesser quality shocks. I personally had the Tein Flex setup before I built the setup above and my teeth rattled with the Teins, which even had softer springs than I'm running now. It's so much better with the new setup.

You also have to define what is "best" for you. If you put me in two cars, one with the KW's and one with the above linked DG setup, I'm not so sure I could pick out which one was which. Unless you have a fair amount of seat time and know exactly what you're feeling in regards to suspension and can tell what the car should be doing at different points on the track, then I would you've got a hand up on most people on this site.

Not to go against what Brian said, since I've never had or experienced those kinds of set ups. But I've had a set of Megan EZ-streets from MAperformance.com on my DD spyder for over two years and LOVE them. Handles like a dream. Havent had any auto x track days yet but in a month itll have some track time!! :D I would definitely recommend them.

That seems like an awesome setup however seems to be quite a lot of work to set it up. The Megan Racing Street Series seem to be a good coilover after reading reviews. The DG setup does seem like a good setup. What spring rates were you running with that DG setup? A close friend of mine has had his tein flex in his WRX (autoX car) for not even a full month and he is selling them for the Variant 3. That is why I wanted some more opinions of different coilovers.

I saw that the spring rates are slightly different as well with those. This is gonna be a tough decision. Not sure where everyone else is from or what your road conditions are but I am from Wisconsin and the roads around me are not the greatest

Dude, variant 3's and megan's aren't even close to comparable. Megan's and my shit tokico's are comparable. If you want a good suspension, just listen to snowborder and get the V3's if you dont want to work to get the koni DG setup. You will regret wasting money on Megans, but now on KW V3's. If I wasn't going to college I'd shell out the dough to get a good-handling not rough suspension like the v3's.

IMHO, there is no tough decision here, KW v3's.

that is where i am also in a dilemma, I am currently a mechanical engineering student and tuition pretty much sucks. I am working on some issues with my car and then my next purchase is going to be some coil overs. Now considering the FEAL coil overs if i go the cheaper route.
