Has anybody tried OBX's newer style manifolds? The design is the same, they switched to 321 SS vs the old prone to cracking 304 stainless steel. The flange is also thicker, the merge collector looks to be one forged piece, and even the gaskets looks better. This is a Pacesetter copy when it comes to runner layout. DNP does their runner layout different. Pics below. Cost $220

Looks good. Anyone willing to or had tested?

Looks better than it did, but I wouldn't put one on my car.

alot of the newer of obx products arent made overseas anymore surprisingly and some have been used an had 0 problems, dont get me wrong im not saying obx is on the same level as other brands, but i am saying that there products are improving we ran one of these manifolds HARD and had 0 problems at all with.

Their welds have been the problem in the past and I doubt that has/will change anytime soon. Personally the only ones I've seen "last" are the ones that have already cracked and been tig welded Again. The quality is just not there and for $220, that is not much of a bargain either:|

Junk. Don't waste your time. There are good chinabay parts but this manifold is 100% garbage. 304ss can not take the heat from a turbo exhaust back pressure. Add on the thin wall pipe and you have a recipe for crap. Get a cast FP or 2g manifold and call it a day.

OBX make about 2-3 different manifolds that fit our engines. One is a pacesetter copy, one a dnp copy, and one a full-race copy some a 304ss and some are 321ss. I think all are made in china. No way you can build these manifolds in America and charge those prices without taking a loss.

In my opinion these manifold will make more top end power than stock, evo3, and the FP manifolds, but will not spool the turbo faster or last nearly as long before cracking. I been racing cars half my life and I have seen stock manifolds crack, seen one full-race manifold crack, several dnp's crack etc... OBX\SSAutocrhome\Megan Racing\etc... do make changes to their designs over time. A full-race manifold cost $1050, that is more than a lot of people on this forum paid for their cars!! On the SR20 motor the chinabay manifold made 25 more hp in the top end than the stock one did. SR20 and 4g63 manifold looks similar except SR20 doesn't have as bad of 90 degree turn from runner to collector.

I plan on getting one these manifolds and doing a dyno test against my current evo3 manifold.
