At least get a Glowshift or Prosport gauge, they are about the same price.

I agree with Diehard. It may seem like a good price, but all those ebay gauges were probably just made in batches somewhere in China, and not properly calibrated at the factory, like Autometer gauges. I would just pick up one used here in the marketplace.

You get what you pay for. DSMer have to stop being cheap and buy quality parts, especially sensors for for your car.

Also standard gauge pods are not 2 inches for most cars. The gauge pods in our cars are made for 2 1/16 inches. 52MM gauges.

Get a gauge from one of our vendors, S&R have nice gauges for sale and also have great prices. STM, MAP both have great selections, any of our vendors will be a great choice for both quality and warranty/support . Most ebay vendors have absolutely no warranty or support for products they sell.

goodluck

edit: LOL I just read the description:
Product Description:

Size:2 inch gauge or 52 mm diameter
Power:professional 12V,IGN MAX 0.3A
Professional installation is recommended.
The range is from -14 to 29 psi.
Boost Gauge

-2 inches in not equal to 52mm
- -14hg in vacuum isnt going ot help most of the DSMers here with vacuum of 18-22. Vacuum is a sure sign of proper engine function
-If you look at the picture there is a warning light on the boost. TOO MUCH BOOST!!!!! I wonder how you program/set it?

What (agentorange313) said is true.
Be live me, I learned the hard way. I bought some Ebay's and end it up replacing them with some good quality ones.

And not saying that the Ebay's were Long and hit my Frame (Pillar). Which the good ones are more shorter and will make a really nice fit.

My glow shift guage is a great guage that has worked for me for years for a cheap guage pretty accurate too. I also like the way you can change the colors on it. I think it's all in what you want and how much ya wanna spend. There's also digital too for those looking to spend the few extra bucks! :D

Hey guys I was just seeing what your feedback would be for an ebay digital boost gauge here is the one im lookin at

BLACK 2" UNIVERSAL DIGITAL BLUE LED PSI BOOST GAUGE | eBay

I don't know how much use this will be to you but

I've never used an "eBay" digital boost gauge or any non brand name produced gauge. But I can say that I paid a good amount of money for my AEM digital Wideband, Boost, and Oil pressure gauges and they are the best guages I have seen or used ever. I get many compliments for them. They are simple to install versus the mechanical ones I've done. And on top of that the AEM name and warranty is behind them. Before using these I was using autometer s carbon fiber series.

I don't think ebay even sells knock off digital boost guages as far as I know most ebay guages are analog. Yea the Aem ones are sweet couldn't ever go wrong with my aem wideband but my glow shift is great for a boost guage too for someone not looking to break the bank.

If I was looking to break the bank I would go a bit more expensive than AEM

I have been running the glowshift tinted 7's and I love them. Got them off ebay three gauges plus the custom piller pod for $150.

There are knock-off "ebay brand gauges". They are called "Dragon Gauge". They are sold nowhere else but ebay. And there is not much following to them.

I bought a water temp sensor from them to practice hacking gauges (into my dome-light for a digital temp display). I even checked it in a pot of boiling water. It confirmed that water boils at 100* Celsius. It seemed to be more or less in line with link while logging.

I think some gauges may be ok cheap, but it is certainly a gamble. I mean, a water temp sender is a simple resistor. It cannot be hard to make those cheap. I think the problem is when they fail quickly or are DOA.

A main difference is appearance. The high end ones are stupid sexy. The cheaper ones look like cheesy baby toys. Yes, a high trim 2013 Audi headlight probably costs more than a 2013 Yugo base headlamp, for good reason too.

The more important main difference has been stated. more expensive gauges are often calibrated better, respond faster, last longer, better warranty, come with blowjobs... etc.

Yea but there would still be no point in it really in my opinion being Aem is already a top notch brand. It's pretty much all in what ya want. I think it's pointless to spend 100s on a guage unless it's a air/fuel for sure or a boost guage but even at that it's not necessary. As mentioned above it's mainly appearance and sometimes accuracy, but the cheap boost guages like glow shift are sweet mines worked great and accurate for years. Now my I got my wide band as for I think it's a more important guage and I don't run any factory 02's just a wideband simulated through ecmlink v3 with no stock 02s. I get small stuff like t-clamps which I get for deals and guages off ebay anything else I would suggest extreme psi, s.t.m., etc.

I have glowshift boost, oil pressure, and water temp they're pretty accurate i compared to a buddies autometer for the boost gauge and they read the same. As for AFR i have the innovate MTX-L and i love it. The AEM isnt bad either i used that in a previous DSM

I don't think that statement is necessarily true. Its all about how much you the builder and owner want to put into your car I think. You can go cheap, you can go go expensive, you can go flashy or you can go any other way. But its all about your personal choices.

I am not aware of any place where you can cheap out on our cars. Maybe a gauge pod? Every part is crucial.

Ebay is riddled with lies and scams and counterfeit products. I'm aware that legitimate shops also sell things on Ebay, but the risk is still there, and you might as well buy from their website instead.

"JDM Billet aluminum"! (is not JDM, is not aluminum, has metal shavings inside, has scratches and dents, missing parts.

I would buy parts from there only as a last resort.

It isnt what you paid for the part. Its the quality of it.

I use glowshift and haven't had any issues. My freind has a turbo sabb and he bought one of those cheap eBay digital boost gauges and it was reading crazy numbers like 30 psi as soon as he hit wot when in fact he was only making 10 to 12 psi at the max.

Yea your right but the statement actually is true. As for a boost guage or a pod or even t-clamps ebay is the way to go basically everything else dsm wise on ebay is garbage I agree with that. But I love there glow shift guage it's as accurate as what my link logs and I love the t-clamps cause there cheap and you can buy in bulk. Then I put my own lock nuts on them. :hellyeah: I know I got all quality parts and run a forced performance 71hta billet and I absolutely love it. It hits boost insane fast. :D

I bought an ebay gauge "once". It was clear plastic tubing that was supposed to sustain the heat a 4g63 puts out. It melted the same day. I would spend the extra 25 dollars and buy something decent imo from a performance shop.

But come on guys it's a hose, get high temp ones or heat coat for your lines problem solved with cheap or good lines. I even run an ebay catch can because I won't spend 100s on them I just won't, but everything else is top name brand on my car! :thumb:

Lets stick to the issue at hand which is the quality vs the price of ebay knock off gauges compared to name brand gauges. This is not the place to discuss how much money you spent on your car or how much horsepower you have made. Lets stay on topic. If you aren't contributing to the OP's question, don't post.

Buy quality the first time. Just so you don't have to spend money on the same upgrade twice.

Autometer is my preference. Boost is an important gauge to have and be operating correctly. Put out the extra $$ for ease of mind.
