Im just playing the devil's advocate I guess i was just trying to see what its like to be a socialist.ROFL :D :p ;) ill stop now. Good day sir, and sorry for jerking around (Thats what she said)

What are trying say wow you got 30mpgs from your bmw first off alot of production cars now even non-hybrids get better mpgs then that so..... anyways im not trying to argue with anybody you want a diesel truck by all means get one and im not screaming on the top of lungs about globle warming (which i think is a huge joke in its self and has been proven to be) and im not sitting here saying that diesel fuel/production is at any cost effecting the earth.

Read the entire post jack ass. Not many cars that I know of pull that mileage while moving down the autobahn at 125 MPH. 55 is one thing, 125 is completely different.

That's some low miles! Is that normal MPGs for that thing?

No idea, but it does have 4.10 gears in it and will only pull around 60-65 mph. So I'm assuming it's reasonable. I have a set of 3.55 gears for it, I want to see what it will do with them, but I would like to swap it to a stick at the same time, and that's a ways off.

ROFL So you drove that car at top speed constantly LOL when you where on the "autobahn", because 116d and the 118d only had 114 to 120 hp and the top speed on both was 125 and thats i you had MT but i imagine that your going to come back and say to me that you had the 120d which top speed was 137, or wait no wait you had the 123d right with a top speed of 148. :thumb: dude your the jackass read the above post where i said i was playing around

I thought the "I was playing around" was at someone else. My bad.

Anyways, the limiting factor on the car I was driving was the little sticker in the upper left corner of the windshield that was a big red circle that said 210 in the middle of it. That means the fastest you could drive the car was 210 Km/H due to restrictions. The restrictions being the tires. Maybe wherever you just found your info at already took that into consideration.

But to answer your question. Yes, my ass happily drove 210 every where I went because the car could handle it and it was legal. And the car handled it just fine.

Alright ladies, time to change our rags. Just kidding!

Back on topic; the truck I have been looking at turned out to be a lot more of a POS then I had even imagined. The body was alright besides some rattle canning, clear coat peel/fade and MINIMAL rust (like a 1" x 1" piece). The interior was bad. The dash was completely destroyed, like someone smashed the top. It probably cracked and someone ended up wrecking it.

That and the thing quit on me two blocks from the dealership. I'm still on the look as of now!

Please don't mind my dad stepping in the way.

The dealership called me back and it turns out they had to have the lift pump replaced. Their bottom dollar is around $9,200 and I'm not on the same page as them; so to speak. It's really too bad this wasn't a '94-'97.

I used to tow my DSM on a 16' full deck non-enclosed trailer with a 2005 Tundra with a 4.7L v8. Once I installed a brake controller so I had working trailer brakes. It felt pretty safe. Around my area which is relatively flat, the truck handled it well. On big hills or mountains the V8 worked its butt off, but more toque would have helped a lot. I mostly feared for the transmission even though it had a oem cooler and a tow package from the factory. My other problem with towing with the tundra was soft (comfy) suspension that squats with any load. Tow capacity was 6900# and loaded up for a weekend I probably pulled about 5000#. This was fine all day long on mostly flat terrain. A trip to the shoot out up th mountains would probably end with a over heated/over worked trans. I don't pull a car trailer more thana couple times a month, but my tundra was 2wd and I need 4wd more now at my new house.

With all of these factors and about a year and half of looking, I drove 350 miles to buy my '07 dodge 2500 quad cab single rear wheel 4X4 cummins diesel with auto trans.
I'm yet to tow my car, but I can say I love this truck. I have a beater car to commute in, but when I need to do a dump run or haul something, it's a pleasure. I have been babying my truck 90% of the time driving like grandpa and I'm avg over 20mpg (mostly hwy). I got over 23 mpg driving back from the dealer in Ohio (all highway). The truck is bone stock and even has wimpy hwy tread tires on it.
The diesel rides much rougher than the tundra, my wife asked if it was a bad road or the truck LOL. Also the back seat is snug compared to my double cab tundra. I used to spend $80+ at the pump, and now it's $100-120 in diesel, but mpg went from 16 to avg20 mpg. I look forward to pulling my buddies 1G to the shoot out next month in his 20' enclosed trailer. Love love the cummins, loved the tundra and honestly if the tundra was 4wd I'd probably still have it. I told myself, if I'm getting rid of a truck I really like to get 4wd, it'll be a diesel so I had no more short comings...with my truck that is.

I drive one. I work in and out of it tho LOL. No mods except for this... (its works vehicle, not mine. But its my parts getter LOL Just ask Force Engineering, they see it quite often)

BTW it's an early 2007 (last year for the 5.9 cummins)

Nice man, I drive an Intenstional 4700 series rollback tow truck for work. It's a 2002 with 615,*** miles and I still running strong. Just a few hours ago I went down to Virginia to bring back a F250 utility body pick up that was loaded down. Not a huge load, but for that long of a drive in 100*f temps, I was impressed.
Big work trucks and diesel pick ups are night and day though. Getting out of the international and in to my dodge feels like a brand new truck. And the dodge has over 150k miles on it. Still feels really solid.

That's great to hear man! Cummins sure does know how to make an engine! And one that'll really last! I'm glad to hear you found your way into one. It looks great. That is actually the year/body style I want to someday own.

I just thought I would update you all on my search for a truck. Well, it ended over a month ago. I just completely forgot about this thread honestly. So anyway, here she is.
This was a few nights after getting the truck. Yes, my dad and I drove all the way to Cody, Nebraska. Then the guy's house was about 10 miles west from there and his driveway was approximately 5-10 miles long. Yeah, 240,000+ acres is no joke. LOL Onto the truck!

It is a '95 12 Valve. It is one of the heavier versions. They had like a 7,500 GVW and a 8,800 GVW. This one happens to be the latter.

Even though the truck had almost 250,000 miles, it looked great! It had been repainted, not the best but it was still newer paint. It did and still does need a little love. My dad and I put on a bunch of new parts; front bumper plastics, a rear bumper, a grill, tail lights and a tailgate from a 3500 dually we finished and have literally had sitting around for 15+ years! Oh! We also put in a lay in bed liner. We also threw a pair of fender flares on while we were at it.

Since then we have installed new chrome rocker covers and factory side black and chrome trim. I honestly just wanted to use bed liner coating to cover up the silver but hey, my dad offered to buy the stuff so why not.

I've also added new clear headlights, 8000k HIDs and a 4" Magnaflow down-pipe. Now I can actually see the road....and people can hear me coming! LOL Thanks to Magnaflow, I didn't get everything that was supposed to be included in the kit. I'll get some recent pictures uploaded when I get the rest of the kit and find time to finish installing it. Hell, I'll throw up some videos too!!

06 Ford F-550 Roll off truck, international 6.0 power stroke v8.... 84,xxx miles, egr delete (blew out about 2-3 valves per year) currently runs like a champ!!! I need to get an exhaust on her!!!

08' Ford F-750 Packer, cummins 6.7 Straight 6, 54,xxx miles, ECM sent out to get modified to remove the DPF.....to the tune of $2,700.....fack.... Still gotta pull exhaust off an dream out the dpf'is filter....

12' Isuzu NRR Packer, Isuzu motor No damn clue WTF it is, aside from a v6 diesel LOL..... 27,000 miles

Egr and DPF are the worst things to happen to diesels in the past 5 years.....
Albeit they did have egr previously, but bc of the diesel emissions garbage they have been going more egr more egr!!!

I have a lifted 03 f250 with eh dreaded 6.0... egr, studs, exhaust, custom tune, etc etc, its never given me any fits, just rolled over 226k a few weeks ago. I'm too lazy to add a pic right now.

It saddens me to say this but my 47RH took an ish on me a few months ago. LOL Yes a few months ago. I have been rebuilding it in my automatic transmissions class. We only get two days (Thursday & Friday), of class to work on our projects. So it has been an interesting road, to say the very least.

Any who, on to the pictures.

Yeah! Note the color of the "transmission fluid". LOL Or the nasty @$$ burnt stuff that came out of it. LOL I swear to God the only other smell that is worse than this is old rear end/gear oil. Yuck! The biggest problem of this was the over drive unit. It is really too bad how weak they are. I never took pictures of the steels & clutches but it was pretty evident which ones were to blame.

Here were all of my parts when they were delivered to my apartment.

Yeah that would be just a little over one semester of school..or roughly $4,000+. I wasn't very happy about it but it had to be done. I also got a few upgrade. When I say few I mean few. They're very minor. Here's one of them!

Here is the "finished" product as of today.

Let's all hope this thing goes in easy tomorrow! I miss this thing like one wouldn't believe!

Thanks for looking!

I drive an 06 2500 daily, 5.9 can't be beat IMHO though the transmissions leave a lot to be desired.

You're right there. The 5.9 is great. Transmissions? Meh.. The 47RH/E & 48RE just don't do it for these things. Then you get guys like me putting nearly double stock power and torque through them. Lol If only I would've found a 5 speed.

BUMP for ishts and gigs.

Here's what I drive nowadays. Haha
