Timing belt seems loose on my 7-bolt how do I tell

You should check to see if your tensioner is bad. If there is any visible oil on it, then it is bad. You can take it out and compress it in a vise slowly, if oil comes out of it in any way its shot. When you release tension off it, the piston should return slowly to its expanded position. I know you asked with everything together, but this is worth checking if you're suspicious of timing belt tension. Spending a couple hours or even a day on it is better than a wrecked head!
 
X2 the tensioner always has to be checked out for proper tension. just get everything off to where you can get the timing cover off and check if the pin hole in the rod in still lined up with the pin hole in the tensioner body, using an allen wrench or something

taking the tensioner off to compress it for the oil test would be going full-out, definatley worth doing if its been some fair amount of time since the last timing job, especially if it looks oily already. but you can atleast check out if the holes are lined up. if they aren't the belts either too loose or tight, and you'd have to redo the main timing belt as well.

Damn the tensioner compresses by hand urg It's brand new too wth? some times it's hard to push down guess it's fried

Sorry guys also should have mentioned that I've been doing a Kevlar belt instal and It's been a pain in the ass
 
Yeah so now I got to wait untill monday to get ahold of the company I payed well over $340 for the kit and to have this problem what a shame

Thing that makes me mad is I had it al perfect to LOL Now I have to do the timing all over
