are oil squirters necessary

i just bought my cousins 95 talon tsi and he had the oil squirters removed for drag racing, i would like to use the car for a road rally and would like to know if it would be safe to run the car at highway speeds for long periods of time, thank you

Short answer squirters are not necessary.

Are they necessary....no. Do they provide extra cooling and lubrication for your pistons, rings and wrist pins....yes.

If you still have them and are serious about road rally you might want to consider putting them back in.

well i was kinda hoping that since at highway speeds i wont be at high rpm or full boost so i shouldnt need extra protection, but i dont know much

Depending how they are blocked off you might not even be able to reinstall them in the engine
