Where did you mount your remote oil pressure gauge sensor?

I've got my remote oil pressure kit from Extremepsi installed, but the end runs basically right into the belts or axle. I'm trying to figure out where I can mount this sensor to hook it up to my gauge. I was considering going under the oil pan but was worried about heat from the DP. I'll get pics tomorrow.

What pressure reading are you trying to take? I have provision to measure in multiple spots. You can dead head a pressure line to mount the sensor in a safe spot if needed.

For my turbo feed I just ran the lines a bit longer and plumbed it in with a tee fitting to get it out of the way:

I have the extremepsi remote mounting kit. Running off my ffwd forward facing OFH. I'm just trying to determine the best place to mount the actual sensor part. AEM digital oil pressure gauge.

Ran mine on the firewall mounted low were not easily seen but still easy to change I'm running auto meter and the sensor likes to fail every year.

I don't get this, why the tee fitting?

Sorry for the late response, and I suppose my answer is "why not?"

I don't have unlimited resources, having already spent more than most remaining DSMs are worth on lines and fittings by the point I put that together.. this is what was available in the parts pile and it works LOL

Why not? Hmm, lets see, one end from the OFH, obviously the top goes to your sensor, but what about the third branch? Does that just spray excess oil on the lower control arm?

It's important to keep the LCA lubed at all times! ROFL

Actually, its just a quirk of the lighting that you cannot see the black braided line going off to the turbo. That's to monitor my feed pressure.

Something like this:

OFH -> Sensor (Tee fitting) -> Turbo

I like the use of the EMT tubing strap :p

Mine will be mounted in the same area with Adel clamps.

Ofh in stock location. My factory gauge never worked so I just pulled to stock sender and put it there.

Bad idea. The vibrations from the motor has been known to cause sensors to break off, you then have one bad oil leak. This is why the remote mount method for oil sensors is performed.

A lot of aftermarket sensors get destroyed by the engine vibrations. Even if they don't break off they will quickly become inaccurate. Not to say this is going to happen to everybody, but it has happened to quite a few people.

I know this is a bad example due to the reputation of the brand, but when I had a Glowshift sensor I just put it in the stock location. I ran it for a while until it started going a little crazy, like bouncing around the place, reading 0 randomly. I rechecked all the wiring many, many times and came to the conclusion the sensor was bad. I contact Prosport and got a new sensor sent to me, remote mounted it and never had an issue until I got my Autometers.

Oil pressure can fluctuate on its own, it's not always a sensor issue. I opt to isolate my sensors where possible.

I'm gonna pick up a new sensor and the remote kit along with some AN lines and fittings for the fuel system.

The gauge would blunce from 0-150psi and sometimes seing 100-150psi after a pull, turn off car and back on sensor would still go funky til i let car sit for a bit then turn it back on and everything normal again. Then do another pull and pressure looks normal LOL, i honestly thought it was the gauge face

I don't see a problem with that.
Oil will still flow there I think and you will keep water out (I cannot remember what seals are on the sensors).
