Okay I don't know how many of you have kids that sit in your 2g. I have two sons that sit in my car that still uses car seats. If any of you have broadway rear view mirrors you know it blocks some light shinning from the rear view mirror when the doors are open. Nonetheless the light still sucks regardless.
My sons are 5 and 6 and the younger one sometimes have hard time seeing where to put his seat belt when it's night time. As I was spending time with them at walmart yesterday I notice these leds strips. I was planning to install some in the back so it'll illuminate the back seats for visibility. Noting to extreme like a ricer look.

Have you guys tried it before? Give me some ideas of pros and cons before I buy.

I bought some 12" strips on ebay to replace the footwell lights since the previous owner used duct tape to cover the bulbs and tapped in some neon tubes. I was just glad I figured out how he installed those neons before the BARE WIRES caught the car on fire. Just be ready to replace the interior light/radio fuse if you wire in hot. If you tap into the door switch I don't think it would be 'ricer', it is functional and not to gain fake HP.

12 volt LEDs will last forever, and use very little power. The two-sided mounting tape they use is plenty strong to hold them in place. Got something similar (only red, not white) and put them in a partial enclosure that serves as a brake/running light on a motorbike. Been about two years now, all are still working and have not fallen off yet. Also you can take that 12" flexible strip, cut it in half, solder couple wires to one half of it, heat-shrink some tubing over the end, and you will have two bright 6" LED light strips.
Wire them in with factory lights so when door opens they come on. And as small as they are, they would be practically invisible until they come on.

12 vt. Led they last forwver and can hook up to door switch so will come on when other interior lights come on.

The door pin switches are Negative Trigger. So you want to connect the + wire from your LED lights to a fused 12v constant source. Then run the - negative wire of the LED's to the door pin switch wire. When the doors open the ground will connect and your LED's will come On!

I'm doing the same with the led strips. I got some pink (of course) off of ebay...16 ft for $10...heck ya. I'm definetly putting them under the seats and gonna them connect to my fog lights. It would be VERY easy to also put some right under the seat belt holes so the light shines through :)

I've got three kids in mine...haha. I'm actually getting ready to take out that back bucket seat and make a new bench style seat so all three of my kids can fit back there (2 are in boosters)...and ad another seatbelt in middle.
