hi guys back again for some advice, i did read other topics so please dont hate on me :p just seeing if its other possibility's i have limited time working 14 hours a day as i will be checking wires and coilpacks tomorrow night. so my problem is, i was getting boost stutter at 8psi (with walbro 255) i heard the 255 is too much for 550cc injectors so i put in a walbro 190, now i hit 12psi but still stutters after i hit 12. i changed my spark plugs from br7es to brp7es, checked turbo for shaft play its fine a tiny tiny bit of play, fixed the boost leak i had and had a turbo oil return leak which caused it before to stutter all the time of course. I will check spark plug wire resistance and compression tomorrow, just wondering what else would cause this boost stutter. I am also burning oil at idle, not at startup just at redlights
after about 20 seconds. valve stem seals maybe? well i know there is other things it could be as well, but would valve stem seals cause boost
stutter, any help is appreciated :) thanks

No valve stem seals won't cause boost 'stutter'. You have 550s but what are you tuning with. Please fill out your mod list in your profile. Do you have a wideband? This would tell you if you're leaning out or running rich, or having detonation issues

Im not tuning with anything yet, i have wideband just not hooked up yet, and i updated my profile with the mods

Upgrading injectors and fuel without any tuning software is a recipe for disaster. You should look into ecmlink so you can tell the car to compensate for the injectors.

Ecmlink v3 was the first mod for my car before I did anything else, literally. I don't regret it either. It has helped me identify and fix many issues and will help you with your fuel issues and whatever else is going on.

A wideband was my second mod I believe. This is absolutely necessary for messing with fuel as well.

Ok thanks I will definitely be ordering it soon, I would of a while ago just tight on cash I had to fix a ton of things on my car :/

The size of the fuel pump wont "overrun" your injectors, some say it will overrun your stock pressure regulator, but your injectors are controlled by the ecu, and like previous folks have said running larger injectors without a tune solution, is causing all kinds of problems with your car, even if you don't see it. Go back to stock until you can properly upgrade parts. And if you don't have the money then don't mod it.

I agree with the first part. But the OP has a 98 so if you're tight on money, look at getting a Tactrix 2.0 cable and using the Ceddymods to tune the flashable ECU the car already has. Search "Ceddymods" on this site and read up if you're interested. It's a much cheaper option but doesn't have as much user support as ECMLink.

will do, and ill take a look at flashing my ecu and going that way possibly, at first i went to dsmchips.com to get a flashed ecu but they are shut down now, is it easy to flash it myself?

Spark plug wires tested fine, I tested the coil pack the primary was 1.1 at both and secondary was aaround 14,000+ohms at both I can't remember exactly what it was. I have a 1g coilpack can i use it? Different plug wire placement, if so what is it? I believe i have it 3214 ill make sure when i get home. And after paying my 220$ speeding ticket I got last night :/ this week I'll be getting ordering DSM link :D

I don't have the 450s :/ I don't drive it hard anyways, I'm ordering it on Monday and a new ecu

WTF......im surprised no one here bashed you. Great people here at the DSMtuners cummunity.

haha ya i know, if i had the 450s believe me i would of put them in already, thanks for the help guys, i will post back after the tune, im excited

update- i got ecm link, wideband is hooked up too :thumb: it is running alot better now and got rid of 8 DTC's no more boost stutter. still need to finish tuning this weekend after i put in the 750's, front o2 sensor, and a new BOV. mine blew off after a WOT tune, ebay HKS bov is crap :p
