Hi guys,
I have a 420a turbo and my radiator just went so I am looking for another. I have searched all over the threads and every link is too old and doesn't work. I have checked fluidyne but they wanted 500 bucks for it. Needless to say I am not doing that. I want a performance radiator or anything better than stock. I want to protect my investment as much as possible haha. Does anyone know where i could get one? If not I will just go stock since I wasn't overheating but I am worried about overheating when I go for my power goal. Thanks guys

If it isn't broken, don't "fix" it. Stay stock until you're in a position to need a new radiator.

A stock auto radiator is thicker Then a 5speed which is what I run in 110+ degrees. Get a 160 degree thermostat from Howell auto I also run it in my car and makes a big difference. Now I have searched and searched for an aftermarket radiator with no luck. My best solution is to buy a 4g63 radiator and have a weld shop relocate the outlets and have the pins line up to function like an OEM. Hope this helps.

TSiAWD666: Why would I buy two radiators when I can just buy one?
Thank you jayson427, I think I will do just that. I assume the automatic radiator mounts the same way as a manual radiator right?

As long as you don't have a massive Turbo like a gt35 or bigger it should be fine. If your doing that I would get an auto OEM radiator and put after market fans. Like a slim pusher or puller fan that should protect your investment plenty. And Yes they mount up just like your 5speed radiator would.

If you get a bigger radiator, then you wont have the fun of fabricating ducting, cutting holes in your hood, and installing a rear facing scoop!

Good luck in your search!

Usually the only difference in an auto and manual radiator are the two additional connections for the transmission oil cooler lines that are necessary with an auto trans. You could install an aftermarket oil cooler and utilize those extra holes. :sneaky:

Does anyone know if the 4g63 auto radiator is wider than the manual one? I thought they were the same dimensions.

Then you should read more. There's a difference between a thicker core and wider one. On a 420a the auto radiator has a thicker core. The only thing that might be an issue is the fan bracket. That's why I suggested a slim fan to compensate for the Turbo. On a 4g63 I'm not sure but there is alot of aftermarket support for that unlike the 420a.
