Wish I could make it... The Army doesn't like giving days off for no reason.

"Two turbos is still just boost, not two power adders. If you run a V6 or V8 with twin turbos, you wouldn't call that two power adders. Nitrous is a whole other power adder that goes above and beyond boost.

If you feel some boost is good, and more must be better, than I'm sure you are welcome to double your intake pressure and see what that gets you."

But our cars did not come in a TT v6 or v8 configuration. If they had twin turbos stock then it would not be an issue. It is technically two power adders. I guess in the end I have to remember it is the Shootout and not a national event so the rules are what they are. Also, now IFO allows nitrous in the street class so comparing classes to classes now is irrelevant

Carry on....

I'm all for GTR's being added and ppl racing daily drivers and other 16+ sec cars being eliminated from test and tune. Sorry no one wants to watch a lifted truck run an 18 LOL

Completely agree. Our local track is shit and my buddy was hoping to break into the 11's at norwalk. He wasn't able to run t&t because of that exact reason. Booked solid with tacoma's and 17 second sedans.

I hope to God I can get off work to make it down for this again. Im really wanting to participate in the Max Effort. However if I dont I'd still want to test and tune. I dont have a car near fast enough to really race any other class. haha!

11BANGER Thats why you get 2.5 days of leave per month.. Save that shit up and take leave that week!

In my opinion:
Allow the GTR's and the 300gt's. It is awesome to see fast awd's race down the track. When the cars get faster, it pushes part development and inspires people to build things better. It's also cool to see our old awd dsm's still kick the f**k out of the majority of the new expensive cars :D

Lol bro I have 71 days of leave "don't ask me how"... Having the days is a start, getting it singed off is another story.

Best event ever, no doubt about it! The GTR class should not be an issue at all to any REAL racer, or race fan. If you have never been to the event you cannot possibly whine about what it might be like.:banghead: The event has to continue to grow with racers and this is a wise decision to keep it moving forward. At least we know the program won't be slowed down any as I have yet to see a GTR scatter the track with debris and fluids like our DSM's have proven they have the ability to do.;)

Always has been the best DSM event anywhere and will continue to be that way too!:hellyeah: I have been there for the last 16 years straight and have never been let down or disappointed in the racing, the comaraderie, or the atmosphere. There's truely nothing else like it! :sneaky:

Ive seen Shep make more passes in a GTR than I have his talon. I do agree itd be awesome to see him make a killer pass in the 1g but his focus is more on the GTR platform now days.

I agree that is sad.
I won't come to the meeting (kinda far away) but I would love to see the DSM doing a pass again.
Yes GTRs are fun and shep might be excited about doing a 1200whp GTR pass.
But hands down: The allmight GTR with all its electric computers still is no match to Sheps DSM.
Even a straight pass doesn't look that straight in the DSM :)

Im on the fence with the gtr issue, but as long as it doesn't take away from what the event is then im good with it.

I personally don't have a problem with a GTR class..

As long as the main focus is on DSM/EVo.. maybe a name change is in order ?

An official name change will come for the event in 2014 IF the GTR's show up on numbers this year. I'm working on a few idea to change the name but it may end up as simple as the DSM/EVO/GTR Shootout.

The event is looking to be much larger than ever, it's always grown and with the addition of the GTR's it should really pick up.

With two full days of racing things should run very smoothly. Also, as was said, I've yet to see a GTR puke anything on a race track either, so they at least won't slow the program down.

My EVO I sure as #### hope to have running by then this trans project has been more than I ever expected it to be. Our new 1g will for sure be done, we are making great progress on that and don't have much left to do for it to be finished up.

why does it have to be so far away :(

You are a state away, how is that far? I don't mind making a trip from Chicago which is about the sake distance I presume. You do realize people make the trip from all over the US for this. Btw I don't think the GTR class will take away from this event.

Lets hope STIs don't start showing up........ Jk, if it wasn't for an STI I wouldn't of made it there last year haha.

I'm glad Buschurs adding a GTR class....it add's some variety to the line up, Its not like they will be kicking out DSM's to fit more GTR's in the place...there is enough room for A LOT more Racers! Those guys were there anyway so why not make a class for them. I agree its annoying to see those stock trucks and crap racing but, I just go walk the lot.
The only thing I wish we could do is add some type of Car show type parking in the lot. Separate rows for 1g 2gs, evo's that aren't racing. Then have a rear section of the lot for Regular Misc cars/ minivans. I would love to see all the DSM's and Evos organized! You should get the VIP parking if you're in a DSM/Evo/GTR!
