I am going over my wiring harness since I have some random plugs from stuff being eliminated like EVAP, EGR and AC etc. Anyways, two of my injector connectors (the plug that plugs into the back of the injector) have chaffed wires and the wires are almost gone. This was probably the cause of my injector failing, the wires shorting out.

I am wondering where I could buy a few injector connectors or plugs. I've seen universal ones like Dorman Universal Fuel Injector Connector - JCWhitney but I am not sure if this will work well and with my experience, anything that says universal is probably not the best option. Also those don't look exactly like my injector plugs, mine have the release tabs on the side, not the metal clip.

If anyone could shed some light and help me find these or know of a place that you can buy these, that would be extremely helpful.

Thanks

The breaks are right before the plug which really sucks. Not enough room to try and resolder or cut, restrip and use a butt connector. On injector 3, one of the wires is holding on by like 3 strands or so of wire. So my best option I think now is too get new connectors. I'm in college right now so Ill have my brother take pictures and send them too me then Ill post them up. See if you wise DSMers have a good solution besides new plugs. :thumb:

P.S Also tried heat strink wrap, didnt work.

Those look more like 1g style injector plugs, which will work fine.

www.fuelinjectorclinic.com sells plugs with metal clips as well, just a different brand. I have used theirs and they worked fine, actually better than the oem style with metal clips.

You might want to look into just replacing all four connectors anyway.

You have the 1g connector style, While you are about to change them, I would suggest to swap to the 2g style, It doesn't has a clip to lock the connector, It is a pres in style, they are way, but way easier to remove, I have always use this kind on my DD.
Here is a Tech Article so you can see the difference.

However, here is a set of connectors you are looking for.

My plugs are the 2g style. I said in my original post that the have the releases on the sides instead of the metal clips. Sorry for being unclear, didn't realize the 2g and 1g were different or what the differences are. So I have 2g connectors. Anyone know a place that sells them? If not, I'm gonna call a local junkyard next time I am home.

Again, thanks all for the feedback

Yeap, junkyard is your friend, there is a set right now on Ebay with the pigtail, or just call your local dealer, theycan order them for you, when I was looking for a set long time ago, I couldn't find any source for then, just dealer, try JNZ, they can order what ever you want.

These are the connectors I have. Anyone know the name of them so I don't look like a complete idiot when trying to find new ones haha?

I didnt even check ebay. Doh! Got mine off rockauto. They have metal clips. Have not tested them yet since my injectors are out for cleaning and flow testing. Paid 26 shipped.
