So Ive never posted but always lurked when i used to own a Laser RS Turbo for a winter call a while ago and as you can see, im back!
You last visited: 01-08-2009 at 10:27 PM

This is my winter car turned project car while my G35 sleeps for winter this is my daily.

Its a quick story time, Skip to the bottom of this post for pics.

With that being said Heres the quickest way to brief you on this car.
Car is from South Carolina and came up here to NY with its 3rd owner to what i understand to be around 2006. It floated a couple owners and seen it on craigslist twice over the years. Well my friend Mark traded it for a old BMW E30 then began fixing her up as it was well abused and in MAJOR need of attention and money LOL. After working on it twice over the course a year i was obsessed with it. Keep in mind im a HUGE nissan guy having owned about 10 240s, 4x4 Hardbody on 33's,sentra winter beaters etc.
Well guess what, he was looking to sell all his cars to buy one. I literally met up with him and drop stack of cash his way the next day.

Heres my post from Galant vr4.org

Car:

~S13 SE 240sx wheels hahaha.

Ive had this car to work on for almost a week in my free time for a friend and basically heres what i got the first day:

~Idle screw set to idle car at 2700
~Found 3 blown fuses with a small metal wire wrapped around boths sides of the fuse so it wouldn't blow.
~Passenger wiper looks like it would fit on a ATV if ATVs had wipers
~Glued on air filter to the MAF and its SO DIRTY. but someone decided to keep it bc its a AEM (MAD HP YO!)
~Both front axle bearings are bad
~PCV valve missing and stripped out on valve cover.
~Wiring... LOL on 7 plugs someone must of broke the soder and put the plug on but the wires were just JAMMED in there.
~slight Overheating due to Bad fan relay and fan not on at all.
~Syncos in 1st, 2nd, and reverse are half way to shot. (have a spare Trans in my garage )
~Radiator seems to be pushed down 2 inches with no top support bars...
~4 vacuum lines on the Intake manifold that weren't capped or being used.

THE PLAN
Here in NY we do things differently.
Winter:
Snow is a big part of our winter months, to make use of that i want to compete in Ice racing up here in the awd car class for the 2013-2014 season. this year is just a learning curve
Spring/Summer/Fall
- SCCA AutoX

With that being said im shooting for 400hp. Any more is a bonus.

....The "To Do" list, Most parts already stock piled.

-Used AWD subframe with NO AWS so it sits at stock specs. Im not happy the way the Rear steering Delete came out.
-New fuel lines. 3/8 hardline for the fuel feed and 5/16 for the return
-New brake hardlines, and rubber ones if they have to be replaced. Why? ...Why not LOL
-TONS of little things like carrier bearing, new front wheel bearings, interior stuff etc
Motor being pulled
-Complete Engine Harness and dash harness getting replaced.
-Block honed, hot tanked, deck resurfaced. new piston rings etc. Basically freshen up the bottom end.
-Head is getting 3g lifters, valvesprings retainers, 272 cams etc.
-Either keeping Big 16g or selling and getting a Garret 3076r
-Might 5lug swap it off a 1g eclipse
-Brakes, they have slotted rotors and new pads all around might leave alone unless going 5lug.
Tons of other stuff but ill post more as i go.

AND NOW THE PART SOME OF YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!

Saw a 1969 Chev Malibu with a 427, L-88 motor under the hood doing some serious cookies in the mall parking lot like that on a fresh, snow covered day.

Motor was all wrapped up real good and vehicle skidding everywhere but where it shouldn't be. Just about found a few light posts.

Suddenly, the back end found some dry stuff and horrible happened:

Back tires (positrac rear end), when hitting the dry stuff, suddenly grabbed causing a connecting rod on the down stroke, go through the crank and out through the oil pan along with twisting up the drive shaft like a rubber band. Oil went everywhere along with some serious smoke. People saw some smoke, called the fire department and police. Owner paid dearly for his antics on a privately owned parking lot in more ways that one can think about.

Best not show picts of poor driving habits and in privately owned parking lots where doing cookies is against the law- it's not what this forum needs to be known for since we don't support any of that . We want to see vehicles in a more presentable and respectable position. Links do not work either...a good thing for your sake.

Nice vehicle though and motor layout - just don't find any lamp posts.

hell of a nice looking car man looks like you are having lots of funn with it already..

Thanks! bought it as winter beater to just fix up and get another 240 as a project car but we've all seen were this is headed LOL. Car is a blast to drive even if i only get 10mpg LOL.

poor driving habits?? LOL I'm a good driver because I do what he does and know exactly what the cars going to do so I'm already compensating for it before the cars even doing it. I laugh when people start spinning out and hit the brakes like retards because they have no clue what to do, where as I know what to do because I go out and practice you can't better yourself as a driver if you don't push your limits and learn your car. Societies very anti-progressive when its comes to driving I've noticed, there's a time and place to do stuff some people just don't know. He's picked a safe location.:thumb:

Good luck with the build man, stick with the grey and red theme it looks awesome.

Thanks, i had no idea what to say to that LOL.

Got my Arp headstuds in the mail. Drove 2 hours to get a complete Talon awd rear subframe with everything from 4bolt rear/axles... control arms to fix my 4ws delete properly. etc. Has 5 lug but not sure if im going to use it. When the subframe down to parts for sandblasting ill take pics.

Also ordered a built head that used to be a members on here. Things are moving better then what i had expected. Soon as more parts arrive i assure you this thread will actually be interesting LOL.

All you need is the rear diff,axles, and axle cups to swap to a 4 bolt and delete the 4ws. Just unbolt the rear rack and pull the lines. The rear control arms are identical to the talons.

I got mail!

~HKS 272/272
~Complete AWD rear subframe w/4bolt and 5lug. Might stay 4 lug for now.
~Built head (Port and polish,Evo springs and retainers,3G lifters, hot tank, bronze guides etc)
~Evo 9 Steering wheel (HATE the factory 1g)
~Evo 9 Gauge cluster
~All 4, New mounts with Poly Bushings (mine are SHOT)
~Complete dash and engine harness. (Engine wire tuck and replace the crap/hacked wire job it has now.)
~OEM Thermostat housing. looks like someone took a hammer to mine on the seal for the thermostat.
And alot more.

Still after some hard to find parts like interior pieces and oem mudflaps in addition to allllllll the other things like Complete fuel and brake lines, A1000 pump bottom end rebuild etc.

Heres some pics of the recent storm and a closing vid of what happens when i get bored. I love doing this in any parking lot. This was my second time doing it in the same spot so it got dry and the parking lot wasn't exactly smooth. (Ignore my friend... Not sure what was so funny LOL)

Welp.. ill be updating this in about 2 weeks (if i dont have pics and stuff before then) Just getting my G35 ready for spring. just waiting on a couple things, and need to get rear tires and the VR4 tear down and build will begin!

Honestly i compare it to every setup i see and i love it. Not over done but yet sexy as #### and functional! When i tear down the ebgine bay everythings getting painted and ill take an HD shot of it to truely capture everything
Cant really see it but theres flakes in it. In the sun they really pop.

Well as of 1130pm 5.6.13 the motor/trans is finally pulled.

As i pulled it i realized how clean and new the freeze plugs were. Upon finshing up i went inside and went to town searching the internet and BINGO!!

click
and go down to like the 6th post. It was sold on here somewhere back in 2005 and heres the ad: (Keep in mind it now has 183k and been beaten on by every owner since then)

2005 AD FROM GALANTVR4.org!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
New Jersey 1389/2000 clean with fresh upgrades $3700
I just bought it in October from a board member but right after that I got a job in New york city, then an apartment, so I really haven't used it. Gotta sell soon because I cant keep at my parent's house in NJ much longer and I wouldn't want to subject a rare, nice car to city life.
135k on body, rebuilt motor at 100k by previous owner
Belize Green, non-sunroof
Rust free- body and paint great shape. no dents
Perfect interior, leather not faded, seams not split on back seat, nice driver's bolster
factory stereo still intact with factoryCD, AWS still functional, all dog legs are on body
Includes 2 sets of wheels/tires. Stock rims have 40% tire tread left, aftermarket ones have at least 90% left.
includes a 90k mile LSD 3bolt rear, can be installed as part of sale, LS1 MAF and MAF translator
Many items done previous owner had done professionally within last 1000 miles(i still have reciepts)
ACT 2600
rear main seal
brand new evoIII manifold/big16g/02housing/stainless exhaust studs (the hard part's done)
dave brode custom intercooler piping
all new brake pads and calipers
kyb struts
here is what's wrong with it
parking brake sticks- i leave it in gear
small section of paint flaked off lower front corner pass side bumper
missing pass side seat recliner handle (still works)
2nd gear grinds if not shifted gently
The car runs and drives well, the new turbo really spools up beautifully and pulls hard. It's a great tight driver, front end aligned last month, no rattles and NJ inspection si good until 10/2006. After what I payed and put into it, i know i'm taking a nice loss selling but know that it would be going to the right person here.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

With that being said it makes sense why the freeze plugs look almost brand new and the block is really clean except the spot where i had the power steering hose come off and make a mess last year.

PICS!

Seriously... WTF LOL
