I came across this stuff looking for ways to restore the paint on a black 98 eclipse, from what I have read and seen it works great. The clearcoat on pretty much the whole car is starting to fade, I can't really afford a paintjob right now, has anyone used this stuff? any feedback appreciated. :thumb:

It's just like all the cure alls out there. It'll look good for a while then not. Don't waste your money, you might as well buy that wipe new crap on tv. Get a decent wax or rubbing compound and go to town.

Meguires ultimate compound... thats about it... that stuff makes rattle can paint look factory. Haha just kidding, but it does work great on older paint. Ive used it on a few vehicles and had good results... but make sure you have nothing to do for the day when you start, it takes a while to do the whole car.

Cutting compound, a good wax and a sealant is your best bet. dont fall for some gimmick crap.

That's the clear coat comin off. New paint needed. Buffing wont help in your case...

yeah thats what I thought, I've gotten a bunch of estimates at over 1.5k, trying to save up to move now so that's :notgood:

I can upload some pictures in a day or two when I get my free upgrade.

Had same prob when i had 1g. Tried everything...... Saved up some money (1400)and painted the whole car (metalic black. Bmw color) guy had extra paint laying in a shop so he charged me inly for labor LOL

You could do it yourself for about half that. 90% of painting a car is prep. The better the prep the better the car looks when done. When i did my 3000gt i spent about 40-50 hours in prep and about 30-40to minutes painting the car. You can buy all the stuff to prep and paint the car for about 500-700 depending on the paint you pick. Even if it only comes out ok you learned how to paint a car and you can save some cash
