hello guys, I currently driving a eclipse 95 GS nt (420a engine). I have a weird problem and I don't know what to check next, even mechanics couldn't helped me because It's a random problem (not frequently problem).

My car shuts off at random while driving. I try to start it again but only cranks, you will not hear the fuel pump running when the key is turned on, therefore, no fuel pressure and engine light do not appear on the dash lights. The next thing I do is to disconnect the battery for like 5 or even 10 min. and connect it again, and it starts normally, even engine light comes in dash while key is in ''ON'' position and I can hear the fuel pump running and it starts normally. What else can I check guys? I'm tired of this problem and tired of disconnecting the battery -.-

Does your car have a aftermarket alarm?

Does your car have a aftermarket alarm?

Yes its a excalibur alarm, and you know what I removed it when I was installing my new ECU it was acting really weird. I forgot to mention that, I removed the main head of the alarm like the box where all wires are connected. Do you think I should go to a alarm store and remove it completely? Like no alarm at all?

Also I have 2 codes the #21 and #12, they appeared on the key dance. I have the check engine light ON

Did you just remove the brain or the entire alarm and wiring? I recently had a issue very similar to this and it ended up being my alarm. Well I did it myself and it was a pain. Check the wiring and fuses on you alarm and make sure they all look okay. My car is a 4g63 but I'm sure some of the same applies. Take a look through my thread. There are quite a few things that could cause it and they are listed throughout my thread.

I'm not sure about the codes you're throwing.

Okay awesome. Yeah check the other things mentioned in my thread first to make sure you don't waste you're time. I was dreading doing my alarm and removing the wiring was a pain I won't lie. It felt great to finish though and know the car is back to factory on the wiring and once I figured it all out it felt really good. No problem, if you have any questions feel free to ask and I'll do my best to help.

check the crank sensor if you can with an oscilloscope when its not running. The sensor will got hot and not be able to send proper signals. Once it cools, it is then able to start again. I've seen it many times. If you cant check the waves and the alarm doesnt fix anything, try putting a new crank sensor in her and see if that fixes it. good luck!
