Hi everyone, so after losing my phone somewhere in my car I stumbled upon something that looks exactly like a manual boost controller. I couldn't find where the vacuum lines go to so I wasn't sure. Wondering if you guys can help me identify it. If it is one I'd be mad and happy because that saves me from installing a new one, but I already ordered one on ebay for 50 bucks. Just shows that I've never been in the back seat of my car. (Btw I just bought this car about a month ago, I'm a terrible inspector.)

Gonna try posting pictures after, it's not working right now.

Not sure if this works, not letting me attach my pictures for some reason.

Lol damn. The button to attach isn't working?

You will have to upload them to photobucket or similar first. It will not let you directly attach them.

Put them on photobucket, then copy and paste the image link into the add picture box.

Ok I used my phone and I think I got it to work

@llxkevinxll I just found it like literally 30 minutes ago LOL. I can't check for a bit since I'm at work but I did tug on it a bit and it seemed pretty stuck, I'll try following the lines and see where they lead.

@CountryDSM Lol nope I did a bit of research between I think it was a bleeding type and the ball and spring type? Something like that my knowledge isn't that great yet. And I made sure it was the ball and spring one, it was the NXS Motorsports one.

If that is actually hooded up to your turbo then there is quite a delay for boost control response. I understand why it's there but the halman in cabin controller does it properly.

What boost controller did you order off of Ebay? Please don't tell me you got this Boostcontroller Boost Controller High Performance New | eBay

Everyone always talks shit on this boost-controller...I got mine for free and wanted to see just how much of a POS it was. Long story short, 99% of the people who had problems with it, didn't install it properly. It does not install at all like a typical MBC.

Installed mine correctly, and it held boost rock solid, and it's designed for in-cabin boost control, so I control that boost from the cabin. Can't beat it for free.

Would I pay $40 for it? Hell NO.

Yeah I read that the shorter the lines the better it is for your boost. I couldn't figure out where the lines lead to but they did point in the direction towards my engine and they went under the carpet so I dunno LOL. I tried tweaking the screw a bit and see if it would affect my boost and I feel like it did but I didn't wanna mess anything up so I put it back to the way I found it. Any ideas on what I should do with it? I was looking to up my boosting psi to about 14, heard if your car is pretty much stock it holds boost up to 16 psi no problems. I'm boosting at 9 psi right now, have an aftermarket boost gauge installed already.

Pretty sure it's not the stock 2G BOV but I'm not even sure what kind of BOV it is because it doesn't look like any other one I've seen LOL. It looks like it has the end of a megaphone on the side where the air comes out, as opposed to a star wars turret which is what I've seen they look like in pictures.(If you can picture what I'm trying to say LOL it's a bit weird) I'll take a pic and show it to you guys tomorrow.

Also unless you are using a gm maf+translator on blow through mode or running speed density you'll want to recirculate your vented air back into the intake.

Have you tried tracing the vacuum lines coming off the turbo (wastegate to be more specific) and see if they run through the firewall into the passenger compartment? That, the boost controller, may have been an abandoned idea that isn't even hooked up. Oh, and get a BPV that recirculates as son as you can so your car will be happier.

Ok these are pics of my BOV, MAF and intake and the whole engine bay. Just to clarify what BOV it is.

As for the MBC I found, I tried following the line from the wastegate that should go to one end of the MBC I would think, but it just led back to the turbo. And I tried following the line on the turbo but I think I couldn't find where it lead to. I also tried following the lines coming from the MBC but it's impossible for me to find out where they go without removing the seat. And the MBC itself is pretty stuck in the area I found it, I can hardly move it so I think the lines might have been attached to something underneath the carpet?

@GPLaserRS LOL we posted at the same time and had the same idea. Yeah I was thinkign if it could have been an abandoned idea. Would it make sense to see if it works by actually tighten the screw(so to increase boost) and see what happens? Or is it risky to check that way.
